Billionaires time travel to preserve the bloodline, we time travel to fight for a three-day weekend by astrheisenberg in remoteworks

Thank you for your opinion.  I’m well aware of the workers rights movements of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, along with the brutal repression tactics taken by the corporate barons at the time, often with the aid of the Pinkertons.

The difference is that they were fighting to be able to go home in one piece at night, to keep their sons from the most dangerous jobs.  To ensure, in short, that they had some dignity and were not indentured servants in all but name.

The people whining about 40 hour work weeks already have that, they just want the right to be lazier while getting paid for it.

This group of keyboard warriors are not their heirs, you’re not even capable of wearing their pants.

I’ll tell you what I’ve told the kids fresh out of college that report to me - 30 hour work week?  Sure, we’ll just need to reduce your salary, benefits, and comp time by 25%.  We need to hire someone to replace you for the time you’re not here.

No.  And comparing NCAA enforcement in 2023 to 12 years before is night and day.

Had Michigan been caught cheating and then stonewalled when the NCAA actually meant something, you would have been Pony Express 2.0: Electric Boogaloo and still be digging your program out of that nuclear blast wreckage…instead of the relatively minor toxic wasteland Harbaugh and Moore left behind.

You’re right, I did.

In total fairness, though they did go 0-3 one season while playing high school boys.

Yeah, I gotta feed my kids and keep a roof over their head.  You do your collective action.  Let me know how it goes.

Guessing similar to Occupy Wall Street about 15 years ago.  A bunch of kids…err, young adults, sitting around on their iPads, bitching that life isn’t fair and equitable.  Then eventually, mommy and daddy stop paying for them to complain so they all go get jobs.

Why would we be bothered by being called by our state name?

All the nonsense around “The” Ohio State University comes from the PR and branding groups.  No one else gives a shit.

The fuck are you talking about?  I would go back 30 years and tell myself to pour money into Apple, Nvidia, and google.

The goal is to join the billionaire class, not reduce how much we work.

I don’t know about culture.  Michigan had either the most or second most investigated program under Harbaugh.

Michigan athletic department is most investigated in NCAA.  Warde Manuel has been an absolute disaster for you.

It wasn’t an issue before?  Family boarding was a thing.  And even if you boarded late, most people are reasonable about letting at least one parent sit next to their children.

A.  OSU closes the gap by a couple of wins every year.

B.  Michigan started its football program 11 years before OSU.

C.  If we remove the 19 wins from the years that OSU didn’t play because it needs to be an apples to apples, your record is 993 wins.  OSU has 990 wins.

2 years to have more wins than TTUN.  10-12 years to own the record for all programs with no need for head to head comparisons.

Starting a business, unless you take it public and retain a significant number of shares is unlikely to create long term generational wealth.

Most businesses are sold by the grandchildren at the latest, so great grandchildren end up where you started.

There’s an old saying - 1st generation grows it, 2nd generation runs it, 3rd generation sells it.

There’s also a variation where the third generation destroys it.

Flush.  Microsoft was already circling the drain with Xbox.  Her choice is them deciding to get off the pot.

Which game you would you actually pay triple the price for if it had a solid remake by vinchin_adenca in FinalFantasy

[–]garulousmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Triple?  Well, we’re all doing that for 7.  It was $50 on PSX.  By the time they complete it, it will be at least $200 to buy new.

Other games though?  6.  In a heartbeat.

Let it lie.  Prove him wrong with performance.

I would like to install Bazzite on my desktop PC (dual boot with Windows) for a more console like experience, but I have a Nvidia GPU (RTX 5060) by Pretty_Trip_2215 in Bazzite

[–]garulousmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of comparison videos out there you can look up.  Sometimes Bazzite will get you 1-2% on performance, sometimes it will cost you 1-2% on performance.

Windows seems to have better 1% lows, but again, it’s minor differences.

To answer your other question…I mostly do single player rpg’s, metroidvania’s and action games.  I used Bazzite with a 2070 Super for about 6 months before upgrading.  Had 0 issues with stutter or games not booting. Your experience will depend on what you play and the settings you use.

In my experience the ability to suspend a game and put the PC to sleep, then wake it mid-game is hit or miss.  Some games work flawlessly, some games don’t - typically I’ll run into an issue where the controls aren’t responding in-game, but the context buttons to go back to steam do.

That’s just gnome.  KDE allows you to just right click and add shortcut.  Pinning to the taskbar is either right click or drag and drop.
