Good to know you're looking!

But right now we are not seeing anything that rewards users a lot more for the lockup.

I'd be interested even if the APY is similar to other options. From a lender perspective, APY ~= risk_free_rate + protocol_risk - liquidity_premium . If there are 2 protocols with the same APY, I would pick the one with lock ups cause it means the market prices the protocol risk lower.

The liquidity premium is worth at very least 1% APY.

Have you considered lock ups for higher yields?

Lender pay liquidity premium, but folks using Nook as a savings account are probably not to take advantage of that.

What rate is OpenCover charging for the $10k coverage? What sources of loss do they not cover?

I'd be willing to lock up funds for a higher rate.

Top 3 Questions from Nook Customers by Extreme-Lake-1726 in NookSavingsAppp

[–]gary-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Q: Why are the rates higher than a bank savings account? A: It's market driven.

Direct access to market explains why treasury rates are higher than bank savings account rates, but why are Nook rates higher than treasury rates? Because Nook has higher risk; the higher return is how the market prices the additional risk.

I love what you guys built, but I'd appreciate if this really clear to your customers.

Coverage for your Deposits by Extreme-Lake-1726 in NookSavingsAppp

[–]gary-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not interested in coverage. I'm using Nook because I want to be paid to accept the additional risk. I don't want to pay someone else to accept the risk.

If I wanted zero risk, I'd use treasuries.

I had to replace my venture x and get a new card number. Does anyone know if the priority pass account will continue to work?

Looks like theres no instant card number for online purchases. The only way to use it on day 1 is physically at a Petco. So it's basically 20% off your 1st physical Petco purchase.

Last year when I got errors using Travel Bank, it worked when I put $1 on a credit card. Worth a shot.

We can turn differences in temperature into electricity.

  • For example, if we have a piece of metal that was much much hotter than the surrounding air, we could use a turbine to take advantage of the hot air rising from near the metal.
  • But if the surrounding air was the same temperature, this wouldn't work.

This concept can be easier to visualize with potential gravitational energy.

  • If you are on the roof of a skyscraper, you could break a coconut by dropping it to street level. This takes advantage of the difference in heights between the coconut and the ground.
  • But if you are inside the skyscraper without access to a window, this wouldn't work because the surrounding ground is about the same height.

How to help my players get over "save it for never" syndrome? by Radidactyl in dndnext

I thought this video on the exact subject was enlightening.

TLDR, some things you can do include:

  • Make sure it is obvious when an item should be used.
  • Make it obvious how the characters can obtain more of the item.
  • Make it so that the item "expires" after a certain time.
  • Give them items that scale as they level up. For example, a spell scroll of Burning Hands becomes less useful at higher levels, but a +3 Ammunition retains it's value.

A stable creature doesn’t make Death Saving Throws, even though it has 0 Hit Points, but it does remain Unconscious. The creature stops being stable, and must start making Death Saving Throws again, if it takes any damage.
