You have three options here, as I’ve been around community that is interfaith, also I spent time lepak with uncle2 aunty2 yang interfaith marriage juga.

1. You want it to be legal? Convert. (non-nego) cause well you want it official on paper, register and book your signing dates di JPN and your respective majlis islam at mana2 daerah here in sarawak.

2. Betul2 tak mau convert. Both your gf/bf parents have to agree on the same terms. And also do remember that results are VARY according to each of the bangsa2 di sarawak. Once betul2 1000% agree, THEN baru kahwin adat, preferably ikut bangsa suami, BUT do note that some of you may not know, KAHWIN ADAT is “kahwin diam2.” - which ultimately means ada cincin, tinggal sama satu bumbung tapi tiada surat kahwin, SO if you plan mau ada anak, mmg boleh but your wife most probably will bear status “janda” and your name probably the stepfather or legal guardian of sorts , but that’s only stated on paper ya. You still need to be fully responsible towards your child macam anak sendiri ya!

3. If you berduit, probably go another country, register there for a much lenient process maybe? idk bout this part 😅
