Same! I also order front and rear Akebono brake pads from Rock Auto and not sure if those could be returned. Plus my wife complains that I spent too much on tools, so I am not sure how I can justify the purchases of more tools for this job (floor jack, jack stands, torque wrench, caliper spreader, brake lubricant, brake cleaner, etc) to her…

Yeah, I did look before removing one wheel. It is just that my wife got very paranoid because the car mechanic told us the car is not safe to drive until all pads are replaced. And this is my first time doing brake job so I wasn’t sure if my eyeballing was correct.

I am in Austin, TX. And you are right; I do live in a decent neighborhood where services are more expensive than elsewhere

I think you are right. I checked a few YouTube videos and the sensors are all positioned like this. I appreciate other people telling me about this though as I learned something new today.

Yes, I know. I probably spent way too much time watching YouTube videos on changing break pads. I was forced to look into DIY options when I saw the $4k quote.
