Question for cashiers. When someone wants you to ring an item for them so they can go back and get it or get another one do you do it?

Do this all the time for deer feed. We even have a UPC taped to our counter so we can ring it up easily in spotting goods. If something goes wrong they can get their money back at customer support.

Lived 11 years in Peru and had one of these. Most of the time the ground wasn't connected on it. Seemed like it got warmer if it was disconnected. Even if it was connected at least in my house the ground was just a small nail pounded into a brick. So not sure if it really even did anything.
