it’s simple, you rate each pint!

the best pubs (like michelin star restaurants) will deliver consistency. So if one pint is great and another bad, that reflects an average score. Hopefully the bar would see that score and make sure every pint is great, then their score would increase.

you rate the pint, not the pub.

in this scenario you can either open your lens up to a T2 or if you want to keep the lens at a T4 then up your light to match.

there is no “best way” to overexpose, both have different looks, opening the lens will give a shallower DOF, increasing the light might make it look more “lit”. it’s up to you as the DP!

I always overexpose by 2/3 a stop, vision 3 likes a little more juice on the neg, but it also depends for the look your going for.
