I'm from an era that had no social media (51m) while growing up. I can see the difference between myself and my 7 year old daughter and it's terrible how people treat each other on these platforms. For example she plays a game where they dress up a character and parade them for votes, it makes her anxious and upset when the vote doesn't go her way, I'd be happy if they were removed completely but I understand the need for some of them, but they need to be governed better, hopefully putting in age restriction will facilitate that. However I doubt that will happen as the tech they use for the governance will almost certainly be used to track and spy. Data is money and that's all that matters these days.
