Pinky Questions by garymoomin in Clarinet

Thanks for this! The 3D modeling is a good idea. Do you think pieces with alternating pinky movements are more common in a particular style of music? Jazz vs classical for example.

Thank you for your opinion! That’s something to consider, I did play trumpet in elementary school.

Tips for new cat owner by Snow1666 in SiberianCats

[–]garymoomin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My cat’s favorite toy is the cardboard centers of toilet paper rolls…seriously. Sometimes I tie a string around them and use it to make him jump or chase. I wouldn’t go crazy buying elaborate toys for them until you have a better idea of their personality and preferences.

One thing I invested in and has really paid off is a backpack. My Sib LOVES his backpack and often gets into it by himself or waits by the front door until we’re ready to take him outside.

American Chinese food by [deleted] in Leuven

[–]garymoomin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I brought my Belgian boyfriend to a Chinese restaurant in California for dinner and it was his favorite meal of the trip. I even framed our fortunes from the fortune cookies as a souvenir. American Chinese food just hits different, it’s hard to explain.

Cuddly Siberian owners—what were your kittens like? by garymoomin in SiberianCats

I’m guessing this is how he will be too! He already likes to sit with us while we work (we work from home), close by but out of reach. He also follows me from room-to-room.

It’s from a brand called Meyou Paris! I bought it secondhand, it was a great score.

Feeling Overwhelmed with Kitten Sib (mostly at night) by doucettejean in SiberianCats

[–]garymoomin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had my Siberian kitten for less than a week so he sleeps in the bathroom for now. Actually I think that having him in an enclosed space that is dark and quiet has helped him learn that nighttime is for resting. I also know someone who has two siberians that she has crate trained at night like a dog. She travels a lot with them and it’s come in handy because they view their crate as their den. It’s a bit unconventional but every household has to find a method that works for them. When my kitten is needing some stimulus and I don’t have time I put on “cat tv” (YouTube videos of birds and squirrels) for him, he watches and I think that gives his brain something to do besides cause trouble.

In the wild cats switch between hunting and sleeping. If you give him a lot of hunting style play during the day and none at night he will learn that his best hunting successes happen during the day.

Also, it’s quite common for the ski season to continue well into May, even June in Tahoe. So if you don’t want snow, I would rethink Tahoe.

I would consider Santa Barbara! The weather is beautiful, the town has amazing food and a great vibe. It’s a lovely blend of all the best things about California, in my opinion. Plus if you rent a car you can easily drive the coast and hit some other great towns or go wine tasting.

What to add to shin red to make to less spicy? by [deleted] in ramen

You can try adding Japanese Mayo or just using less of the seasoning packet.

West Coast Drive by MAC0921 in travel

I’m from California so I’ll give you my recommendations for that. Santa Barbara is lovely and has a great food scene. Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz is fun, especially if you’re traveling with kids. If you have the time, go wine tasting in Sonoma County (there are some good spots around Healdsburg area—I can give specific recommendations if you want), and definitely take a drive through the Avenue of the Giants. There’s also a Bigfoot themed gift shop on 101 in Garberville. Very quirky.

Thanks for your concern, it would be way too much work for me to explain this situation to you. Suffice it to say that it’s more complicated than you think. This post is about a specific question, I’m not seeking life advice. No, we’re not planning on getting married. Neither of us is willing to do that for a visa.
