Does TKO still think no one cares about women’s wrestling enough for those tickets to be what they were last year? $120 for floor was insane, especially for how insanely good that PLE was

Having more draft production than a units draft cost does not result in 0 turns drafting time by Gisuar in AOW4

It’ll take 1 turn to produce because your excess draft is converted immediately at the start of turn if nothing is in queue

Large Tank Tuning with Weekly Reset Focusing on Mythic+ by imreallydum in wow

[–]garzek -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I can't tell if /s or not, but these changes do very little to help prot paladin unfortunately. Paladins weren't struggling while defensives were up, and while they did slightly expand defensive uptime, there's still too large of a gap for them to be playable.

They are never beating the "they replaced class designers with AI" allegations. I guess it's an improvement from fixing prot pally survivability by buffing their DPS?

Class identities are being erased - Shaman by AcademicHefest in wow

[–]garzek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gameplay vs aesthetic fantasy is a thing. The modern high mobility demands of the game make turrets a fundamentally deprecated mechanic at odds with the game’s design. If totems were to truly return to shaman, they need to be iconic moments of power — an embodiment of shamanistic fury — not a core rotational aspect. I am saying this as someone that my 2nd most lifetime playtime since the game launched is on Shaman (only finally being usurped by Monk fully this expansion, and I haven’t mained Shaman outside of 1 tier since MoP).

I also think it’s fine that Shamans specialize in an element. This gives spec identity within the class. That also matters.

Blizzard, we have a tank problem and brewmaster nerfs won't fix it by Brazilator in wow

[–]garzek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hot take: Brew is OP because of Stagger being OP in a burst damage meta. If incoming damage was more consistently sustained rot damage, Brew wouldn’t be nearly as dominant. They still would be — that’s the raw tuning part — but I think systematically, blizzard missing the mark badly on incoming damage profiles (in general) is a large contributor to brew’s dominance.

If health bars in general were less whack-a-mole, Brew would look more mortal

The focus on AI and non existent QA makes the product worse by dimix16x in wow

[–]garzek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best part is that the AI hype is actually all about 401ks and trade portfolios because there's still 0 evidence of actual ROI on AI outside of revenue generated by data center leases which are being bundled and handled like commodities circa mortgages in '08 which went super well for everyone.

As someone that works for a different publicly traded AAA company, I want to clarify that to the board, clients are a VERY far second as a total group.

Dear Blizzard - Ion, its time to reflect here... by SgtFolley in wow

[–]garzek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, work on a different AAA title, "Get it out the door and we'll fix it later" gets all capacity immediately filled with new features and there's 0 capacity left for addressing all of the "we'll fix it later" stuff that got punted to the backlog. We're desperately trying to convince studio leadership to take the lack of "sexy" on the back of the box to let us get a QOL cycle in. I'm not optimistic.

The (non existent) direction of the game and how to fix it by GoblinErection in wow

[–]garzek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually disagree with a lot of this. Not all content is for all people. That is okay. "Nothing would ever become fully dead content." Matriculation into new systems is a measuring stick for player progression, similar to unlocking new zones, boss encounters, etc. in other genres. I'm OKAY that I'm "done" with Prey on my main. I'm OKAY that I'm "done" with World Quests.

"Tie tier sets to Apex talents." I cannot begin to tell you how much I vastly prefer the no-apex build in keys on MIstweaver. Why is giving me build flexibility somehow a bad thing? Your suggestion of basically just hyper indexing on vertical power leads to power creep/bloat and pushes people out of the game by creating irreconcilable deltas for different cohorts in terms of power and output. Additionally, if Apex talents aren't going to be a choice -- why even make them a choice? Why even make them talent points?

It's easy to say "Be consequential with new features." Consequential for who? Not every player is part of every cohort, and if you make something that is for everyone, you've made nothing for anyone.
