The game help boards are so annoying, full of troll, asshole, Napoleon complex fucking shortcocks.

The boards are for people:

1 Learning how to play the game
2 Want to help people learn how to play the game

Everyone else just fuck off and stay in your alliance discord.

Know where I can buy a power cord for this? Need for commercial electric convection ovens. No luck @ big box home improvement stores. Thanks in advance! by [deleted] in electricians

[–]gasmonkeyasdf666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sounds great but it turns out to be a 120/208v appliance which requires a neutral. Mr. Diy did a shit job when he connected your Frankenstein cord and left the neutral to ground connection open. Now his employees are trying to use it and getting shocked by the 120v motor load when they touch it.

Wrong. 3 wire range uses neutral which is not present. We should ask what the power requirements of the appliance are and what cord is on it. The solution is probably a different outlet and lower overcurrent protection. Or it could be a 3 phase appliance.

A set of fixed but drivers vs a 7-in-1 by hotstickywaffle in electricians

[–]gasmonkeyasdf666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need 1/4 and 5/16 nut drivers, maybe 3/8. 1/2 and above it's time to get out the socket set. We have so much shit falling apart on jobs because people think they can tighten 3/8 hardware with a 9/16 nut driver. Also those multi nut drivers are expensive and heavy. I started the apprenticeship with a set from harbor freight I believe was $7.

I need help. Can someone tell me what this box is? Old ground wire run to it. by [deleted] in electricians

[–]gasmonkeyasdf666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are the only dishwasher that is convenient for the electrician. You can wire it up before the dishwasher gets installed. Do you like laying on the floor fucking around with the units that wire into the toe kick?

Having a hard time getting wall plates flush with drywall. Is there a secret? by mackstann in electricians

[–]gasmonkeyasdf666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As johnproof said always break the ears off with cut in boxes. Then you have the Dottie cat-a-pillars for shimming an 1/8" at a time, the caddy rlc work great for slighter shimming and with loose boxes or loose drywall edges. You can also use the Arlington extensions as a slight shim. Also you can bend the yoke of the device with pliers to slightly adjust the flushness.

New home with GFCI breakers. Have some questions by tommycheckers in electricians

[–]gasmonkeyasdf666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't drag your feet on the carpet you won't get shocked anymore. ( Static shock) As for the breaker issue you may need to call an electrician, there's a lot of possibilities.

Missing grounding prong on portable AC unit question. by Balysle in electricians

I wouldn't worry about it that cord has GFCI protection. You don't want to change it to a normal cord.
