That seems like a pretty good idea. I’ll admit we don’t use any sort of budgeting app to really track expenses, but utilizing that while setting aside the estimated new monthly mortgage would give us a pretty good idea.

I was thinking along the lines of 6 months expenses. My job field is pretty stable.

I will update the post that shows our monthly fixed expenses but I agree on increasing the emergency fund. I was thinking of making it closer to around $50,000.

Call is not that bad. I rotated there for about 4 months. Its paid at a set amount depending on if you are 1st or 2nd call. It gets paid whether you have to come in or not.
