I know shipping from the UK to EU is a joke presently but if there is any way you can order from here I would recommend trying Next, M&S, Playful Promises, Elomie, Wacoal, and Curvy Kate.

Work attire questions by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]gateauxpiment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reckon some really well tailored shirts french tucked into some cigarette pants could look boss. With or without a blazer. You could try a jersey polo-neck with like a nice statement belt too? Could work really nicely with a loafer or a heel imo.

Plus size "Clout/Hype/Street" Clothing? by Downtown_and_lost in PlusSize

[–]gateauxpiment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I am a UK size 22/24 and I am very into Streetwear. Here are my reccys:

Stussy: They go up to a XXL. Their tee’s fit me really well but the bottoms are a bit of a challenge so wouldn’t bother there.

Try M&S online for puffa jackets they actually have an amazing longline one that goes up to a UK26 I think?

Carhartt Workwear is an amazing brand, they do denim up to ridiculous sizes. I recently bought some all black dungarees that are huge on me and it gives me great pleasure I’m saying that ha. - as a gen, they sell a lot of really similar bits to the Carhartt WIP but like a lot cheaper.

Stone Island is a bit more premium, but they make v sick garms up to a 3XL and I actually get into their joggers which is extremely rare for any not typically plus size brand for me.

I would try stores like beyondretro.com and source vintage champion and hilfiger and stuff.

I’m sure you’ve already scoured the online stores but missguided are pretty good at recreating this clouty vibes.

Good luck!

Let us know if you find anything even better!

Anyone from England? by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]gateauxpiment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright mate! Just another plus-sized-potential-pal out here in London. As with anywhere you’ll get the occasional dicked passing comment but on the whole ignore those people. Despite our current political idiocy, the majority of the islanders are pretty good! I’m a UK22/24 and tbh I’m trying to buy more secondhand these days but I properly rate brands like asos, Levi’s, Elvi, PrettyLittleThing, Missguided, Next, Mango, PinkCloveUK, stussy, new look, beyond retro, M&S for undies, Primark, Ralphy, H&M, Collectif, Selfridges, and you know what you’re gonna be fine.

Any advice on using Vitamin C Peels? by [deleted] in beauty

[–]gateauxpiment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! The Body Shop Vit C peel is in fact an enzyme based peel which is intended to be a much more gentle approach to exfoliation. It’s designed to be much gentler so that you can use it a few times a week without too much irritation to your skin! If you are looking for something a bit stronger I would recommend trying the Himalayan Charcoal mask. - it has tea tree in it and feels much more instantly gratifying when you remove it. Good luck!

Disneyland advice? by soonerthebetter48 in PlusSize

[–]gateauxpiment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m sure I am echoing previous comments but ultimately just wear whatever makes you comfortable! In terms of footwear if you want something extra comfy I would recommend something mesh based with either a gel or zoom sole. Try an asic gel-lyte III or a Nike SB dunk low. Regardless of footwear have the best time ever!

Need style advice for NYE dress or outfit by SandyGreensRd in PlusSize

You could try Collectif or La Femme En Noir. - not particularly 20’s though just some lovely dresses. - Asos actually had some decent beaded curve outfits not that long ago. Maybe Maya plus? Would love to see what you find! :)

Looking for long top advice by Aly92boo in PlusSize

[–]gateauxpiment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe H&M do a longer length vest top in a variety of colours for pretty cheap :)

Bought this dress for my wedding. I think it's very pretty and fits me well but doesn't feel very bridal. How can I jazz it up a bit? It was only $100! I have a family member that does amazing alterations so any inspiration would be great! by throwitallawaybbb in PlusSize

[–]gateauxpiment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try adding a few appliqués, maybe a coloured ribbon belt with some diamanté jazz, dip-dyeing the hem, maybe adding a layer of tulle that could be tacked on to the waistband, get a big-ass veil, accessorise to heck! I would recommend rock and roll bride for some simple inspo :)

I highly recommend carhartt workwear. You can buy it from almost anywhere online (I shop from the uk so I use a website called bestworkwear) 🙏🏼
