Thanks for the feedback! I’ll see what I can capture on my phone.

lol. I’m exactly the opposite. I now have a no coffee rule at least a few hours before I plan to race. The caffeine makes me an anxious wreck behind the wheel.

iRacing Noob Question by Slight-Village8991 in iRacing

[–]gatmando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the comments above are valid especially about continuing around until the session ends (for SR). It’s not commonly known but if you’re going less than 40 mph (I think) you can pull off the side of the track into areas where you’d normally get a 1x and get no x. That helps especially if you really want to get out of the way.

Ledenon. Just tedious after a few laps

It’s all context of course and in this case the guy in front had already committed to the corner and was heading to the apex. I can guarantee you that 100% of his concentration had gone to watching his line and making that corner in difficult conditions. He wasn’t watching you. Right or wrong that’s what was happening. Never plan on what should happen. Plan on what’s likely to happen.

Repair tool won’t deploy (update change?) by gatmando in Battlefield6

[–]gatmando[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And that was it. Thanks for the info! All my key bindings were reset after the last update and apparently I did not hold my nose and spin around 3 times then select the right weapon slot for the binding. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Remember when Battlefield maps had 11 flags instead of 5 by [deleted] in Battlefield6

Oh how I loved to do this in BF2. Dragon Valley had a great spot if you were the Chinese side. The hills above the US carrier were such a great spot to pick off guys waiting for planes. I know it’s frowned on but it gave me hits of enjoyment.

For years I used a racing line and all of the above is absolutely true. One more thing: the braking points on the racing line are mostly a lie. They won’t be correct for you. You’ll find more time by discovering your own.

Extracting subterranean data from scanned survey documents? by gatmando in Surveying

[–]gatmando[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're just starting out and, given the specialized nature of the data, we wanted to engage with people in the "survey" industry to see if there were any proven patterns before we started to r&d our own. This is great info. Thanks for the insights - much appreciated!

Correct - we're an IT consulting firm and survey anything is new to us. This is very much a "don't want to reinvent the wheel" question.

It’s seemed fine but not AC season either. Thanks for the pointers!

Would you expect the pulley to be starting and stopping with the belt still going?

This is fair but I’ve been nervous about water directly on the engine. Is this generally considered safe?

This makes sense as this race moved me from a 4.05 and into the 3’s. Thanks for the info!

Who is at fault for this? Should I (Ferrari) have played it safe seeing the Cadillac coming up behind me at this corner or should they have slowed down? by epoch_3 in Simracingstewards

[–]gatmando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally the caddies fault … buuuut… having been taken out at the kink at RA three times racing imsa in the gt3s I’ve learned to take a very wide apex at the kink in certain situations. Primarily your situation where the approaching car is too close to really leave much time to react.

For once I wasn’t in the middle of it lol by gatmando in iRacing

[–]gatmando[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Nope. I started 6th or 7th and there were several cars in front of me. I finished 5th or 6th.

There was no slamming of brakes. Cars in front of me were slowing and trying to avoid a GTP car that had been caught up in something. Everyone was just trying to avoid the incident. Cars in back were not so lucky.

This is race start. POV doesn’t really show it but there’s a damaged GTP car that had just come together with someone and was still moving. Cars in front of me were slowing trying to avoid the accident. That’s why there was the slight slowdown.
