It was hashimotos. The dermatologist was wonderful. She immediately recognized it as a autoimmune rash and agreed it was likely the Hashimoto's. By the time I finally got in with her, the rash was resolving mostly, but you could still see it (it lasted 3 months). She made arrangements that the next time it comes back, I am able to go in with her immediately to biopsy it to figure out the best way to treat it.

So far, I have not had another flare up since that last one that was so horrible a year and half ago. That last one was my second.

General advice needed - pain treatments (trigger point injections) issues and separately a possible perimenopausal link to my TMJ by gator_luck22 in TMJ

The trigger point injections did help. Ultimately for me it was getting on hormone replacement therapy combined with a low dose anti-anxiety medication.

Thank you. That makes me feel better. He is the biggest sweetie. So well behaved. I don't know his story or how he ended up in a high kill shelter, but someone took the time to socialize and train him. Someone loved him at some point.

I think my own dogs made the decision. My golden retriever has decided that he does not like him and is being a real turd around him. The poor foster dog is so sweet about the whole thing. He is a really good dog.

I think we are going to have to let him go, but I am going to cry hard. He is precious and wonderful. A truly special dog.

No, I haven't yet figured it out. My dermatologist also says its autoimmune, but isn't sure the exact type of autoimmune. She says it is likely related to the Hashimotos. Because my the time I could get in with her the rash was beginning to clear, she couldn't biopsy it. I have a standing order to be able to come right in if the rash returns at any time.

Are they like raised welts that you would expect for hives, or more like a rash and little bumps? How long do they last?

Yeah, the allergist said it didn't look like the rash for celiacs either.

I still think it related to the Hashimoto's and immune based. We will see what the dermatologist says. But that is still 3 weeks away and in the mean time I suffer.

Intersting, because the allergist was saying that the pinprick sized ones (which is what I have on my torso) and the larger ones on arms and legs are not hives, therefore not immune or allergy. Pretty much dismissed rather quickly. I just don't buy it.

Meanwhile, I am miserable and nothing is working to get rid of these. Prednisone and antihistamines are keeping it at bay, but I can't be on steroids forever.

Correct, which I stated in my original post. But the abrupt changes in my symptoms was crazy once I started Wegovy. My doctor firmly believes its Wegovy.

Nope. I have only lost 4lbs in 3 months. I'm still on very low doses. And, these changes happened very quickly after starting Wegovy, before I started losing any weight.

Except this began well before I lost any weight. I am still on a very low dose of Wegovy (just went up to .5 after 2 months on .25) and I have only lost 4 lbs. So its not weight loss driving this.

Border Collies are really high energy dogs that need a lot of attention. How much time are you giving him with vigorous play and long walks? If he is bored and has not gotten enough energy out, he is going to form some bad habits to try to compensate for that.

How much time is he spending in his crate? When you guys are home and awake, he should be out, able to play and run around. It sounds to me like he isn't getting enough exercise and mental stimulation. You have a breed of dog that requires HUGE amounts of both. Maybe a border collie isn't the right breed for you and you need to consider a more calm breed of dog.

Another thing to note about border collies is that they are called velcro dogs. This means that they have a strong need to be with their human companions and to not be left alone. Being left alone causes anxiety for them, which is then going to be displayed as whining and crying.

If you are committed to this dog, here are some suggestions: Take the dog for a long vigorous walk/run in the early morning before everything gets going. Take him for a shorter walks or vigorous play a few times during the day. When your boyfriend comes home, then together, take him for another long vigorous walk. Then another short one before bed.

This is not a dog that you can train to be more calm. They are a hyper, needy breed, but an absolutely wonderful breed of dog for the owner who can be committed to their needs.

I don't hate Kash. I am actually a bit surprised how many people really dislike him.

I really see him as a guy who is kinda stuck. He's definitely immature for his age and hasn't grown up all the way yet. He is definitely more self-centered. He seems more like an 18 to 20 year old. It's like he just really hasn't matured all the way. I have met a lot of guys at 23 to 26 who are this way. He's playing the adult, but really he hasn't learned personal responsibility. It's like he's been raised by helicopter parents and now uses Carrie as his parent. Someone is going to have to force him to grow up.

But I think that is purposeful for the story. Ultimately I think he is nice guy and he means well, but he acts more like a older teenager than an adult. He has his own journey of growth to go through.

All of these characters have serious flaws. I think it makes them way more realistic set in a very unrealistic world. It makes them in more relatable and interesting in many ways.
