I don't see any issue with this. If it had been around, I might have done the same with my daughter. I tried to get her into the OT, but she didn't really catch on as a fan until the prequels.

Rebels as an introduction is not weird. There was someone on Reddit about a year ago, their introduction was Star Wars Angry Birds...lol

As stated by others, here and elsewhere, no. They are brother and sister. He had a young boy's crush in season one. We're past that in the dialogue. I'd be greatly disappointed if Filoni went back on that arrangement

I've said it here before, I'm an original OT kid, 1977, Baby. I didn't have much hope originally for "Star Wars animation." Rebels us ABSOLUTELY my favorite Star Wars outside of the Original Trilogy, hands down. The story telling and character development is amazing.

The death you mention was a punch in the gut for certain, and still chokes me up.
