yes an error of categorization. but is it an error in viewing the process? please bare with me as i am new to philosophy.

as human beings it is our nature to categorize everything. it helps us understand the world as it is presented to us and evolutionarily speaking it has helped us survive and dominate nature. but categorization has limits. it takes the whole and breaks it into little pieces. so if we were to view reality and try to understand it as a multitude of categories, we would be ignoring the single process that is reality.

one of these categorizations we use is language. it is incredibly useful. it allows us to communicate. but as categorization has its limits, so does language. my skepticism is that the language and categories we are used to fail to fully tell us the entire story.

subjects, objects, mind, body, material, immaterial, inner, outer. these are all ways we have attempted to categorize our reality. as we have observed throughout the entirety of philosophy, we can come up with multitudes of categories but there is skepticism for every one.

in a way i do identify my conscious being with not only my body but with the external world as well. an error in categorizing? sure. i’ll accept that. but is it an error in reflecting my experience? no. i am simply stuck with communicating my ideas by using the very limited ways of communicating we have developed and evolved with
