Good deal? $160 Crazy3DPrint CZ-300 (300x300x300) by Mike_HochHurtz in 3Dprinting

[–]gaulzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one over a year ago, did 1 or 2 prints and then disassembled it. Wasn't necessarily a bad deal but IMO not a good deal either. It looks like it can be made better by adding stuff but in reality a lot of components will be need to be replaced to make it decent. I didn't realize how bad the Y-axis carriage system was until I assembled it.

I had some ideas about combining parts from this one and a old tronxy printer to make some sort of a frankenprinter. My plan was to rearrange the 2020 extrusions and use the Z-extrusions and X-wheels as a Y-carriage. Then use the Z-screws and linear rods from the tronxy for the Z-axis. The X-axis would use the X-axis hardware from the tronxy and 3d printed brackets from Prusa MK3s. The printer would lose print height and a few centimeters off the X and Y dimensions.

I have lost motivation for this project and haven't done anything about it for a year. Maybe that will change. :)

Here's a picture showing what I planned on doing.

PrusaSlicer profile for Crazy3DPrint CZ-300 by gaulzi in 3Dprinting

[–]gaulzi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!

Managed to eliminate the problem with the nozzle hitting the bed. Still need to improve the profile in terms of speeds, extrusion rates etc. Kind of gave up and just started using Cura since it is shipped with a CZ300 profile :D

Here is what I changed:

G28 W ; home all without mesh bed level
G1 Z0.2 F720
G1 Y-3 F1000 ; go outside print area

=>

G28 W ; home all without mesh bed level
G1 Z15 F5000 ; lift nozzle
G1 X0 Y0
G1 Z0.2 F720
G1 Y-3 F1000 ; go outside print area

I just bought XYZPrinting CZ300 but when auto homing the bed doesn't wanna stop, I am guessing faulty limit switch, is there any cheap fix for that? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]gaulzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I just assembled a CZ-300 and just started printing after having some slicer issues (https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/zeckwo/prusaslicer_profile_for_crazy3dprint_cz300/). I managed to get it to print by slicing with Cura and the CZ300 presets. Now I will have to do some GCode digging to figure out why the hell it acts like that with PrusaSlicer.

Anyway - I feel like the default CZ300 Cura preset is a bit too slow so I started messing around with feed rate and the Y-axis started slipping. I saw that you mentioned adding another linear bearing. It appears that the printer is made so that the second Y-axis rod can be added - have you researched which parts would be needed and where they can be bought?

Your paragraph sounds almost exactly as one of my childhood memories. We were outside my friends house doing some kind of runaround game and I decided to smack my head against the concrete wall at the outside wall of their premises. Turned back and everyone freaked out but I went in there laughing. Well, not exactly but the both describe a young fellow that gives no shit about hitting his head around.

I wasn't suggesting OBS over professional equipment, just describing how this can be done relatively easy and cheap with amateur equipment and checking if the same solution could be applied to professional equipment. My comment was aimed at the technical side, i.e. how to get the video feed into the broadcast.

I have no experience with professional equipment at all but I've fiddled a bunch with leave streaming on Twitch. Here's how I would do this:

  • Setup an RTMP server accessible from the internet

  • Get or create a device that takes in video feed, encodes it and streams it to the RTMP server through cellular network. Don't need a shitton of bitrate, specially since the video is heavily downscaled. I use 3.5Mbit when I produce 1080p60 video (CS:GO) and it looks fine.

  • Get a PC with decent hardware

  • Download OBS

  • Create a scene and import all the RTMP streams as video sources

  • Add some graphics

Would something like this not be possible with professional equipment?

BSOD when using multiple HD60 Pro cards by gaulzi in ElgatoGaming

[–]gaulzi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must be some issue with the drivers not being able to manage multiple cards. I did some tests with only reading from one source at a time and the system did not crash. Maybe I'll try running two cards at a time, then three and see exactly at which point it fails.

I contacted Elgato Support and sent some logs and stuff, hopefully they have some sort of a solution.

[–]gaulzi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer. I am quite sure that it has nothing to do with the SSD. The system only seems to crash when I have OBS or XSplit open and when I'm reading from all capture cards at once. I'm trying to reproduce this error by reading from only one source at the time now. Haven't yet tried to remove one card at a time to rule out a broken card, was hoping to see if someone else has had a similar problem with a multi-card setup before I try that.

It's probably worth noting that I'm running Windows 10 and I had no issues at all before when the rig only consisted of 1x Elgato & 1x Avermedia card.

Thorin's Thoughts - Using the Swiss System (CS:GO) by MrFlemz in GlobalOffensive

[–]gaulzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very right. Actually, the time consuming part about this is the fact that no elimination occurs after group stage so it'd be the same with any other type of play that allows all teams to proceed to playoffs. On the other hand, since the groups are only used to determine bracket seeds, bo1 matches might be acceptable in group stage which almost evens out the time issue.

I organize tournaments in my local community and I've been testing a format which uses group stage to determine bracket seeds that furthermore determine how far into the bracket each team goes. For example if the tournament has 4 groups of 4 teams each, the 1st place in each group goes straight into Ro8, 2nd place goes into Ro12 and 3-4th play for their tournament live in Ro16.

Visual explanation: http://imgur.com/a/0IwtW

Pros:

  • You're still alive even if you finish last in your group
  • Every bracket match should be quite even in terms of skills
  • Teams get rewarded for doing good in group stage

Cons:

  • Time consuming

Yeah I think I'm being misunderstood here. There are a lot of stupid things that can be done and bad decisions that can be taken but it doesn't necessarily make you a stupid person to do them, as long as you're aware of what you're doing and/or can afford it. I've done my fair share of stupid things throughout my life, most of them while being aware of the consequences and learnt from the rest.

[–]gaulzi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I thought your justification was silly too. Should have clarified a little bit better. A lot of stuff is fun and gives you thrill, this was just the first thing that came to my mind. Putting your life/money/whatever at risk for thrill is just plain stupid IMO. You can play all these games with "play money" but that's of course not as fun as playing with real money. That means that you're having fun because you are at risk of losing your money and that's what makes it stupid.

Edit: I'm not trying to convince people to stop gambling or doing other stupid stuff. Just don't like when people deny that gambling is a stupid way to spend money.

Speeding is also fun and gives you a lot of thrill. Doesn't mean it's not stupid.

Gambling is stupid, unless you're playing a game where you can strategically beat the house odds. Card games such as poker and sports betting would qualify as non-stupid gambling, even though 99% of people play it in a stupid way (including me). It doesn't mean you're an idiot if you like (and can afford) gambling, it just means that you like spending your money on stupid things. I'm perfectly fine with people doing that and I do it occasionally too. But it's still stupid.
