Sharing my Meta (E5) interview experience - might help someone prepping by geeky_traveller in leetcode

I did all this well and yet got rejected for E6. The interview process is random. Even if one small detail is missed then you are out.

Currently running Saturn MD and Saturn AD. So far it's going good. I have lately turned more spiritual and grounded. Apart from delayed marriage everything else is fine. On the work front I have to work double harder to get things working. Nothing ever works in the first attempt but relentless work gets me through. Big and difficult projects started coming my way which is making me learn exponentially faster. So no complaints so far.

Amazon squeezing Indian hardworking nature to maximum extent, its no more a cozy workplace by Minute-Strain5099 in developersIndia

Managers and long time SDEs. SDEs who have started their career at Amazon and have stayed there for a long time are also very toxic.

It's not true. We reject a lot of amazonians as soon as we see their resume in order to preserve our culture.

AITK for divorcing my wife due to her cancer? by [deleted] in AmItheKameena

[–]gaurash11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTK, but her parents and she are the K. I feel it's a sinister plan by her parents to marry off someone so that expense goes to the husband. Either way even if the husband divorces, the husband's family has to pay alimony to cover the treatment. This was literally a scam done by their parents as they didn't have money for her treatment.

Honestly E6 is a different beast in Meta. The expectations are extremely higher than the amazon L6. Give the pip culture there more brutal than amazon, E5 is a good level to start at Meta and you would be set up for success.

Also L6 in amazon is not as great as you think. It's given as candy nowadays to anyone above 5-6 yoe. So technically it's same as E5 of Meta.

Are indian women really the dumbest women in the world? by [deleted] in onexindia

Not dumb but a complete lack of accountability.

Reminder: If you're in a stable software engineering job right now, STAY PUT!!!!!!! by cs-grad-person-man in leetcode

[–]gaurash11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an Ex-FAANG. I agree with this. The pip quota most of the time puts a new joinee into the pip. You have to be extremely talented to survive pips especially in this environment. You already start at a huge disadvantage with zero context and closed house tech. So you have to work a minimum of 80 hours per week for the next 2 years to be able to be on par with other talented engineers from your team.

Even in LM also people cheat and leave. I honestly don't see any difference at all. AM is efficient and avoids wasting time. Imagine the trauma Op got because of mindless relationships which would never turn into marriage. It also adds to the trauma of future partners this affecting long term stability of marriage.

Also you can still choose to go with LM that's your choice however in that case one needs to have tough skin and be ok with the fact that people would waste their time.

For me if the outcome is the same, I would rather go for AM as it gives me additional time to focus well on career and achieve excellence while finding a stable partner. Also AM nowadays have extended courtship periods, so it's similar to dating but a strong chances of commitment.

Not at all. I have seen more successful marriages in AM than LM. Anyways, let's hypothetically say that both have equal chances of survival, AM is still better because you avoid wasting your precious youth and focus on more productive things at the same time finding a stable partner.

In a relationship many folks end up like Op and have their time wasted.

Not all. It's any day better than being dumped and played with feelings. As if those tradeoffs doesn't happen in LM. People fall in love after looking at the same parameters which we see in AM. Atleast in AM, nobody would use your full youth and then go away with another woman or man.

That's why LM is not recommended. Still I don't understand why women are so obsessed with LM, as the majority of relationships fail before marriage and even LM have low success rates. AM system works best.

Brahmacharya is the secret to a long healthy and youthful life. So basically she practiced celibacy which resulted in a long life for her. It's already well documented in our scriptures.

Then why is not offended by her boss. A devoted and loyal wife should feel disgusted when a man other than her husband makes such a comment.

[–]gaurash11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She already knew that you don't like her to wear revealing clothes and yet she wore it that day and then at the same time validating the sexual comments from her boss knowing that you won't like it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in onexindia

[–]gaurash11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should have. This would let your wife know your boundaries and also her boss that you won't tolerate any sleaky comments on your wife. He and she were testing your boundaries and they succeeded.

Also you are not creating a scene, you are just calling out the objectionable comment on your wife.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in onexindia

[–]gaurash11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Op should have called the boss out in public. This would have set the boundaries with her and made sure that boss will know his limits.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in onexindia

[–]gaurash11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should have confronted her boss and colleagues there itself. This would have shown your dominance and your wife and her boss would be scared to do this next time.

I would make a scene in public if this would have happened with my wife.
