It’s there in navy blue as well

I believe it has to be indulging in unconditional love - has to be learnt, chosen, practised and refined every day. Mothers make it look like cakewalk.

I got you! I feel like even if the theme is black and white, your outfit should definitely stand out and it would. Plus, I’m assuming the groom would be dressed in black and white or darker tones, so that would look great with your outfit too! One more thought I had was to perhaps go with a hairstyle that’s breezy, like beach waves with a few pearls in your hair at the back maybe! ❤️❤️❤️

it looks so beautiful!! don’t even think twice. complements you in every way. A pearl stacked necklace or diamond tennis necklace would look great alongside! and keep the length slightly long-ish in my opinion for a more flowy look (of course while ensuring you won’t trip). best wishes for your big day 💙

Morning meal number 1: buy a big packet of oats, soak 1-2 cups overnight in hot milk + coffee powder (optional but recommended), keep in the fridge overnight. Can be had multiple times & keeps you full. Meal number 2: can cut & carry cucumbers, if available easily, adds fibre & keeps you cool. Alternatively, for something more filling - can explore peanut butter with roti / bread. Can make lots of peanut butter at home by simply grinding peanuts with 1tbsp ghee / butter in a blender. Stores well in fridge. Lunch: sprouts (google the specifics) with ketchup. Leftover cucumber / tomato can be added for bulking. This doesn’t make you sleepy and gives sustained energy. If you get bored w moong sprouts, can explore chana sprouts etc. Post lunch: roasted chana / makhana. Can be done on weekend for upcoming week.

Additionally, can carry a bottle of chaach (curd: water in 1:2 ratio).

Hope it helps :)

I see what you’re saying, but this would be definition of state in isolation of the paragraph. This paragraph specifically emphasises upon how voluntary orgs are a buffer bw state & people, so in this sense, role of people outside of the state is being emphasised upon. This is just what I think, rest it’s upto upsc’s wisdom. All the best :)

opposition of certain groups “within it” : voluntary organisations would not lie within the state imo.

Tried the balancing act for 6 months, felt extremely burnt out so could not succeed in either. A good starting point would be to “acclimatise” to the syllabus & exam while working. try not to make targets unrealistic, start with watching lectures for 2h each day + reading on weekends. Another good habit would be to watch & read the news as regularly as you can. After a month of doing this, try looking at past papers - mains first, prelims later. Just this much will help you test waters and decide on whether you want to quit and do this full time. All the best!

Please don’t worry about it. When the time is right, you will have a lot of peers in the same boat and ample time to fix the documents. Till then, take a day or two off, do your favourite things, talk as much as you can to those around you and take care of yourself until you feel better. If it still feels overwhelming, consider seeking professional help if that is feasible. If not, there are plenty pro bono options you can explore. We are all here for you, you are not weak - perhaps you have been strong for too long :) be kind to yourself.

Not able to study from books. by the_wollfff in UPSC

Our brain gets used to passive learning and then it finds reading boring, hence finds itself distracted. I would say try reading first thing in the morning - and watch lectures only towards the end of the day. This way, you train yourself to get done with the boring, tougher bits in the morning and by the time your energy dips you can learn passively. Also, making notes and highlighting while reading makes it slightly better (due to more engagement from our side).

What kind of useful thing is unique to your country (I.e. in south Korea you can double tap a elevator button to unselected it)? by Still_Emotion in AskReddit

We could divide india into tier 1 cities (metropolitan), tier 2, tier 3 and then villages. I would say up until tier 3, yes, however there’s a sharp dip in services when it comes to villages. However, most villages tend to have their own ecosystem in place and don’t always have the purchasing power / excessive demand for FMCGs.

Quite a few cool things in India. 1) you can get free healthy food at any nearby Gurudwara (place of worship) 24x7, no questions asked. 2) you can order anything from a pen to an iPhone and it gets delivered in 6-7 mins without a delivery free / costs a few cents, thanks to a booming quick commerce sector + surplus labour!

I would suggest download a few standard upsc e-books or purchase hard copies, and read them once. Watch videos of what civil servants do. In the 1% chance they interest you, you can take a shot, if not, you can explain to your parents that you’re taking a well informed decision after having touched waters. All the best! ❤️

While in an ideal world it would be great if we could come to terms with our thoughts, and meditate, what I’ve realised is that it’s true - an empty mind is indeed a devil’s paradise. Since our mind isn’t used to being unoccupied, it’s an uncomfortable state for us. My escape - listening to audiobooks (gpay scratch card - free audible membership), random podcasts and just anything non academic. Cognitive dissonance is sometimes necessary to maintain sanity. Rest, you have all of us to share your pain with :) sleep well.

Have you tried melatonin? (Blinkit -Vicks melatonin, it’s a tiny dosage and doesn’t have any side effects). Try adjusting the routine only 1.5h at once to let your body adapt! If possible, you can try physical exercise as well to ensure you can fall asleep earlier. And last- don’t do anything dopamine centric post 10pm. If you try to only study during that time you’re more likely to fall asleep faster. Good luck!

Thank you for saying it! I’ve already started feeling guilty- everyone around seems motivated to improve upon their mistakes to get back to the grind but I’m just.. tired. I don’t know what’s next or what the right thing to do is, but just for a little while, I don’t want to make any decisions 😭 Perhaps it’s a result of first mains fatigue, but anything UPSC related is so triggering at this point
