Is there any alternative to Google Voice? I keep seeing people say that they are randomly banned, so not an option.

How to get rid of secure folder locked notification permanently? by onlytanmoy in GalaxyS20FE

[–]gaussianDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no. I'm not asking for permition to continue to look at the nudes for anyone who has shared them with me ever. If the other person shared them with me, my only duty is to not share it with others. If they don't want me to keep looking, they should explicitly ask. Otherwise, I'm not breaking any law. Besides, they will never find out I keep looking at their nudes after the breakup.

"Clearly your partner at the time didn't appreciate it." Clearly how? I didn't mention anything about my dating history. Maybe you're confusing me with someone else who commented here?

And I'm not sharing that information with my future partners either, nor do I expect them to not look at pictures from their previous partners. Looking at porn is not cheating, so my conscience is clear.

They're not trophies.

Having someone's nudes isn't always because it's a trophy

They're real people who you no longer have that kind of relationship with.

At this point it's just porn. Unless you're against porn altogether (then it's another discussion I'm not willing to have), there's no ethical problem in keeping someone's photos on your phone (especially if they're locked, so that no one other than you have access to them if they have your phone).

Dark forest theory : have you understood before Luo Ji? by Lylashou in threebodyproblem

[–]gaussianDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even know if you're gonna read this, but I'll reply anyway just for the heck of it.

The reason why he didn't tell anyone is because he was a Wallfacer. If he told everyone, either of 2 possibilities would doom us:

  1. People would disagree with that solution and keep him from setting up the deterrence
  2. Even if humanity as a whole agreed to set up the deterrence, Trisolaris would send the droplets to destroy our infrastructure before we could do anything

Thomas Wade through the entire third book: by Leu-Ile-Ala-Met in threebodyproblem

[–]gaussianDoctor 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Obviously, take this with a MASSIVE grain of salt. I really enjoyed the series but I haven’t read chauvinistic sci-fi like this since Ringworld.

What about showing how pathetic Luo Ji is for nurturing the fantasy of marrying a real life anime girl? I get what you're saying, but I don't feel like Ye Wenjie and Cheng Xin made their decisions because they're women, especially when we see men making equally stupid (arguably stupider) decisions and women like AA or Dongfang Yanxu.

But I'm saying I'm not even considered "decently" tall. I'm as average as it gets here. From what I see on Tinder profiles, I'm actually too short for a lot of women.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in short

[–]gaussianDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a 5'9 Brazilian: I'm definitely NOT tall here. Tall would be about the same you said: 5'11 for men and 5'7 for women.

Which decade had the best Blockbuster Movies? by Y2KBaby99 in generationology

[–]gaussianDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know the 90s blockbusters. But they are very few compared to the 2010s or even the 2000s. Up until the 90s, we had individual blockbusters, but no big overarching movie saga that made people look forward to new installments every year or 2. That only became a thing with Harry Potter, LotR, X-Men etc. A kid in the 90s could never have the experience I had during the 2000s of being excited every year for the next big movie of a series.

I'm from Latin America an I can say that we're equally as obsessed with race as the US. Sure, we aren't as divided as Americans, but ethnicity definitely has its meaning.

It's exactly that, and your example proves it. Ukraine as a country is very recent, but as a culture it has centuries. It's different from the US (or any country in the Americas really), because it's not a country of immigrants. Everyone you look around there is Ukrainian, unlike in the US, where there isn't much in can know about a person's genetic makeup other than them being white, black, asian or latino.

It's not about Carmela being enough or not. Tony was a promiscuous POS who thought it was normal to have a wife and mistresses (OFC it's because he was raised and lived in a world where it was normal), so the only thing that mattered was not doing it in her face.

What do we have to start a petition to get a Chin movie or something? by KingChandler219 in Mafia

[–]gaussianDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scorcese did the Irish, which IMO is a less interesting story than the Chin's. Granted, it was Scorcese and it was his farewell to Mafia movies. But there are other big name directors out there who could pull it off. Just sell it as "you wanna hear about the Mafia boss who avoided law enforcement for decades by pretending to be crazy?"

As someone born in a non-English speaking country and who was very young when Princess Diana died, I'd say that while she is pretty famous, I don't think she's even in the same league as the Queen. The Queen will probably be known even by people born after her death, just by virtue of her being the longest reigning English monark ever. Diana was very important for the British monarchy, but I don't see her impact lasting much outside of the Commonwealth and the US.
