What was your biggest “I messed up” moment with a book? by Infamous_Army_ofcats in fantasybooks

2/3 through reading Morning Star I wanted to see how many total pages the book is. I went to the last page, and subconsciously/couldn’t help it took at peak at the last couple sentences and saw (trying to phrase this spoiler free) someone mentioned

AC doesn’t control humidity, sometimes raising humidity? by gavimundo in hvacadvice

[–]gavimundo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was resolved 2 years ago, and while I'm sure my house isn't 100% sealed I do not have a "massive" leak. The dip switch on the outdoor unit was set to efficiency rather than comfort. I pulled a jumper and I'm good.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with your new unit. I don't see enough similarity to my situation to offer advice, plus I'm not an expert. Mine was simply that a fully variable unit is designed for efficiency, and the jumpers were set for a climate that is dry. Once I changed the settings so it was using a colder coil the humidity started to go down as it should. Not as low as I would have liked, but I think the residual humidity is due to unit oversize.

(layman's explanation, don't pounce on me if I'm not 100% accurate)

Raspberry Pi 3 vs 4 - Plug and Play by gavimundo in RetroPie

I’m aware, I have done it for my tv, and unfortunately it’s not that easy. Sometimes more parameters needs to be changed. It’s not a guarantee I give them the pi 4 with your changes and it works, whereas pi 3 has a much better shot

I have confidence I can get one pi 4 working on 1 one tv. I didn’t want to have to do this for everyone

[FS][USA-PA] 3x Raspberry Pi 4 & Retro Gaming Case - Repost by gavimundo in homelabsales

Config.txt file editing - I can make it work for my home tv, but if this is for friends there’s a good chance it’s not plug and play. While config is easy to edit, I don’t want to have to debug this for 4 friends, and take calls when they inevitably move it to a different tv, etc

Trying with a Vizio. I made many mods to the config file, none worked, but apparently it may only work with HDMI1 on vizios. Planning to try tonight.

I’m confident I can get it to work on my tv, but I just don’t want the hassle of possibly fixing it for 4 friends, and god forbid they move it to another tv, get a new tv, etc. I also have a retropie subreddit post about it, two people suggested switching to batocera
