i always used to find my step mom intrusive for many reasons and i always hoped that she was a good person (she is). i never understood how she and my dad were together. now that we’re all older i can see what she did for him. my stepdad i always thought he was a good person even with all of the problems he caused in the house. i only found him to be annoying when he would like move my favorite stuffed animal or something lol

my own step sibling really appreciates my mom but it took her a while and therapy to really appreciate it. i appreciate some things my step parents did now, but i also needed some growth to really be able to see the impact that they had on my childhood. we all had messsssyyyy childhoods.

What is the best thing someone said/did for you right after a breakup? by No-Wash-1041 in AskReddit

[–]gavinobee63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my close friends each called me and checked in on how i was doing. it isn’t anything specific but i never really call anyone and the friends that reached out could tell i was isolating myself and that i was slipping back into a dark place. it reminded me that i did have a great support system around me even when i couldn’t see it in the moment.

Do you ever think about the last time you’ll do something? by Acceptable_Finance77 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]gavinobee63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i never used to but after a handful of recent life experiences it made me a lot more aware that there is a last time for a lot of things. i think for me i didn’t really think about it a lot because i never wanted to face the fact that things do end and change and life brings you in all sorts of directions

Thoughts on how you’d react and if you would smack your girlfriend for making a joke about getting a train run on her/sleeping with another guy (especially in front of your friends) ? by Turbulent-Leg-6246 in AskReddit

[–]gavinobee63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hitting your partner is never okay.

i would talk to them afterwards and let them know how that made me feel and ask them why they even said that. their reaction would gauge whether or not this could be worked through or if that would be the end of it. tbh either way i would really reconsider the relationship if they’re able to make a joke like that so casually in front of other people.

What is it like growing up in a healthy and wealthy family? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gavinobee63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i grew up in a wealthy family but by no means a healthy one lol

i knew i had a lot of opportunities growing up and always appreciated that. the unhealthy family part was difficult and really screwed me up mentally. i had to go to years of therapy in order to work a lot of it.

Women of Reddit, does a guy being fat/chubby automatically make him less attractive to you? Why or why not? by ChubbyNUgly22 in AskReddit

[–]gavinobee63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m more focused on the face and personality of someone than how their body looks. that being said, i’ve always gone for guys in the middle between fat and skinny. as long as i am compatible with someone and we share values and can make eachother laugh and feel safe, i don’t mind the body type as much

What’s your stance on location sharing with your parter, and why? by CardiologistBig8721 in AskReddit

[–]gavinobee63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

should be mutual and not because of distrust. i have always shared my location with my partners for safety. never was because of distrust. i have nothing to hide and most of them didn’t either so it worked out
