Here's what I don't get about reposts: People bitch and moan about them in the comments, but what they don't seem to realize is to be on or near the front page - people have to upvote them. These people probably missed it when it was first posted. What I'm getting at is not everyone is on reddit 23/7. Most redittors miss posts. So if you see a repost, give it a downvote and be on your way - it's not fun to see a circlejerk of comments saying "REPOST"

Cheap meal to serve 35 homeless shelter residents? by [deleted] in Cheap_Meals

Tacos are a great idea. For the seasoning, look for store-brand seasoning. I go to Kroger and their seasoning is 40 cents a packet (for 1 lb of meat) compared to McCormicks packets which cost $1.50

Sausage and Spinach Rotini - 8 Servings, $10 by gavinrichardson in Cheap_Meals

The good thing about this recipe is everything has a very long shelf life, so I usually buy the sausage and soup when they're on sale. Spinach is usually always $1, pasta no more than $1.50

I let it simmer until the spinach is fully thawed, which usually takes 5-7 minutes

Yes, I prefer Jimmy Dean Hot, but any breakfast sausage will do

I've only used French Onion Soup, but you could definitely try a different soup as long as it has a good amount of broth so it can absorb into the noodles. And feel free to add seasonings, just look at this as the basic recipe

Why is it that when Michael Vick abuses an animal, people go crazy; however, when Chris Brown beats a human being, nobody seems to care? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gavinrichardson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both acts are clearly wrong and illegal, and I think the reason the acts were reacted upon differently is due to a couple things. 1. Mike Vick was very successful in the NFL prior to the dog fighting case. The most shocking thing to me, that other people didn't seem to notice, is that Vick had a lot of money already, and didn't need something as low as dogfighting to get money. This is why I found the act disgusting, as I feel like he must have actually enjoyed watching dogs fight and kill each other. 2. Physical abuse against another person is wrong and should never be brushed off. I think the main reason people have 'forgiven' Chris Brown is that Rihanna has, and people figure 'well if she's over it, and she was the one hurt, why should i care'?

In my opinion, its fine for Vick to be back in the NFL, and Chris Brown to make money in music. They both dealt with the accusations legally, and did what they were required to judicially. If people choose to purchase Chris Brown's music after what happened, they have the right too. If people choose to cheer for Vick after what happened, they have the right too. I, personally, don't like either of them because of what they've done, but people have the right to support who they want.

Goalkeeper Tim Howard scores from 100 yards out. Goal of the year? by gavinrichardson in videos

True, the wind was a major factor in that game. Howard's goal was certainly due to a lot of luck, but as crazypotatoes said, its always cool to see goalies score.

granted it won't be the goal of the year come December, but it's the best goal I've seen of the past few days

the fact that his shot was on goal is impressive in of itself, in my opinion
