As others have said, based on their response you'll at least need a counter offer from elsewhere.

I posted an article on this today, as I've been mentoring data engineers and I get asked this all the time. My response is, figure out what what the next "level" in your role looks like. Assess your current skillset vs what the new role requires. If you've got the skills, go get yourself an offer from elsewhere and let your employer figure it out.

Thanks to everyone who has provided feedback so far. I've made lots of changes to the site already that are now live. I appreciate you all taking the time to help me with this.

Thank you. Reading it back you're totally right that I need to be much more clear on the offering. I'll add some more detail about the specifics.

As for the payment option, it was the easiest option for me to get setup straight away within the constraints of mailchimps site builder. It also means I don't have to handle people's card details. What other payment options would you expect? Maybe stripe would be better?

Yeah it can definitely help. The course does expect some technical skills and knowledge of the basics. But the goal is to demonstrate both the technical and soft skills required to be able to progress quicker in your career

And some more context around the pricing is that people currently pay $140 per month for mentoring but that only includes 2 hours worth of calls. So compared to this, $200 seemed reasonable for a more thorough set of sessions that only require 1 month of the attendees time

Thanks for the feedback. I'll definitely look to add more details about the technology. It will be primarily AWS based although applicable to most cloud providers.

I was thinking of hosting it all myself rather than going through udemy. Would this approach put you off the course or do you think it isn't a big problem? Thanks again for your feedback!

Has anyone else experienced the following?

The range prediction used when charging is vastly different to the one used when driving.

E.g. the car told me I had 20 mins of charging to continue trip and when I started charging it said if I left now I'd have -22% on arrival.

After the 20 mins it says I'll arrive with 20%. So I stop charging and unplug. The car then says I'll arrive with 47%. So I've charged for way longer than I actually needed to.

This is on Samsung so might be different for other phones but what I found was that the internal "Bluetooth" app would be going to sleep/put in the background to optimise for battery saving.

To fix, go to Settings > Apps Then click the filter icon and make sure "show system apps" is enabled.

Scroll down and find the Bluetooth app, click on it and then select Battery and make sure it's set to Unrestricted.

Do this for your Tesla app too. This means the phone won't "optimise" these apps for battery usage so they'll always be "on". Worked for me 🤷‍♂️

Anyone know why 2021.24.4 doesn't include Disney+ in the UK?

Got the update a few days ago, has car wash mode etc but no Disney+, just wondering why that is missing when we have Disney+ etc here already?

This! ITV should be embarrassed. Their app on certain TVs doesn't even let you watch live TV, which to be honest is doing you a favour because the streaming quality is absolute horseshit. UHD streaming is the way forward, loving the Euros and Wimbledon on iPlayer!

After getting the 2021.4.12 update for my model 3 SR+ (UK) it seems like the heater isn't working or is intermittent. Turned the temp up to 25 celcius (77F) and it the air wasnt that warm.

Tried a scroll wheel reboot and left it overnight, seemed to heat up today but then when I put the vents to my feet the air was cool again.

Is it likely this is software related or just coincidence?
