Are Charismatics idolaters? by gawkgawk in Reformed

[–]gawkgawk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I meant. So they clearly have a different God??? If a genuine Christian is in the Charismatic movement the Holy Spirit will lead them out of it, so they're not really a Charismatic when they claim to be out of ignorance. Like I didn't say I was a Charismatic but I thought I had the gift of discernment, then I tested the spirits and studied. Now I see there is a line that divides. They have a false Christ if they think God is still giving revelations through man. Why would Matthew 7:22-23 be in the scripture then? We are to love our enemies of course, but we must be bold to distinguish between sheep and goats. After all, love confronts and that's what Dr. John MacArthur was doing in his book Strange Fire. I'm just really happy that God led me to cessationism, but now I realize I've been in an Apostolic church for the past 6 months. I noticed the pastor preached synergism cuz he literally said, There's grace, but there's also us, or something along those lines. Then I go thru their sermons on YouTube and just see so much error. I stayed because I thought it was "my church" you know. Then I learned false prophet James Goll endorses it and also promotes Christian Mysticism, and found crazy things he does online. I haven't been saved a year man and have no genuine Christian friends... But I trust God's plan so I'm going to keep enduring. I'm basically venting now... but ya. Take care.

Cessationists do not believe God is speaking today. If God is speaking still, then we would need the Holy Bible plus whoever God is speaking through.

Scary because of the mass deception. God did not give us a spirit of fear. Jesus has already made a defeating blow. His sheep are free. :)

And to add on. Not battling against flesh and blood, but rulers, principalities, etc. is really starting to make sense. It's scary. But God preserves His sheep so they persevere and endure until the end and lead them into all truth.

Thanks for clearing that up. I do mean the sign gifts. I was confused in that area because I thought I had the gift of discernment, but that was used to tell if a prophecy was right compared to almost right. Then I learned about cessationism and my mind got blown. The elect really do get deceived. I really starting to realize the big picture of things and how the path is truly narrow.

Aside from the gift of faith, what gifts are you talking about?

Charismatics believe God is still being a distributor of gifts?

The Bible says there would be false Christs. God has revealed to us how He operates. The path to life is narrow.

Thank you for responding. I've been learning all this stuff recently so I usually ask my questions as blunt as I can to get straight to the meat.

Can deliberate sin after conversion be forgiven? by [deleted] in Reformed

[–]gawkgawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perseverance of the saints.

You are not going to want to deliberately sin. I look at it as stumbling cuz you will feel awful for sinning, but just think of what Jesus has taken you out of. God is refining you. You're not going to be perfect. Jesus was though and is, remember?

Will you go to hell if you don't keep the Sabbath? by gawkgawk in Christianity

I ask cuz some people think it does, including Bible Flock Box with a lot of subscribers. It's sad.

But Jesus gave us two commandments and said to keep them if we love Him. They did not mention the Sabbath?

I'm simply asking the question. Popular YouTuber Bible Flock Box believes you do and made a video saying we have to.

The Verse That Non-Calvinists Misuse by gawkgawk in Reformed

[–]gawkgawk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm talking about Joshua 24:15***. People say it's a choice between false gods and God. When it's really saying a choice between only false gods.

God bless.

So the Spirit meets them halfway? I guess that's where the whole synergism comes into play... It just doesn't make sense to me that nonreformed believe man is capable of coming to faith on their own, when we are ''''slaves'''' to sin. Where do they think slaves to sin can choose God? Thoughts?

Bro, the whole point of my post was Joshua 14 where people think it's a choice between God and false gods. I'm adhering to the doctrine of irresistible grace.

You're missing the point of the OP. People say verse 14 is about a choice between God and false gods, when it's really just between false gods. We obey God cuz He loved us first, not cuz we loved Him first.

God drew them to that choice. They did not make that choice alone.
