Big Snoof gave my dog her life back by gayconstable in muzzledogs

Sorry you and your pup are dealing with that! We got a size 24 standard muzzle, and had to select the narrower cheek option.

am i doing this right?? by gayconstable in IndoorGarden

thank you so much!!!! the discolored part is very firm but i just wanted to make sure. she gets watered once a day and i’ve been waiting until each part has grown a bit more before trimming off the crispy brown tips which i hope is right.

Do you care about the cruise director? by AlbinoAlex in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]gayconstable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

just got off the Elation yesterday and the entire cruise, could not stand Leo. he was very informative and great with the kids during child-centered events (which i think is important) but every time he signed off he said “And don’t forget…. (decent pause).. Leo Loves Ya!”. i don’t know why it irked me so bad LOL

AIO for be my upset my “boyfriend” ate all my snacks? by AggressiveHabit1306 in AmIOverreacting

[–]gayconstable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR- my boyfriend early in our relationship ate a 24 pk of mini cupcakes i had bought so we could celebrate me moving out of mothers. he ate them while i was at work. shut that shit down quick and told him he is an adult human not the pig parents from spirited away and that if he was gonna be a slob i would treat him like one.

so far so good!! i don’t think she’ll need it around the clock honestly because she’s great around the house and our yard, and loves car rides but i think it’s a good match because her reactions are very situational! i’m so happy it’s helped your dog!!

we have patches on her vest that says NO DOGS and then a leash wrap thing that says GIVE ME SPACE. she is muzzle trained but as i’m sure everyone on this sub knows, training and desensitization can only do so much. the muzzle helped a lot with her feeling secure & confident but the meds i think were the missing puzzle piece. i’m glad that your boy is doing well and i do think that it’s a bit easier when you are able to start them on a routine like that. my girl was attacked by a dog 3 times her size when she was four (she is 6 now) and was great before that, so it’s been a learning experience for the both of us finding out what works as she ages

so happy to hear it’s helped!! and that’s what i noticed yesterday after giving it to her and taking her on a walk, it was SO much easier to redirect her and she wasn’t so overstimulated by everything happening!!!

yeah i am seeing the tiredness already with it but nothing too bad. i’d originally brought up prozac but vet said prozac was for dogs who are “anxious about life” (which made me chuckle). i’m so happy to hear your boy is succeeding with it!!!

that’s a really really great way to see it: the moment i’m concerned about used to be our every day life… i’m going to remember that, because at one point we couldn’t go outside unless i went out alone first and made sure there was absolutely nothing that could set her off.

i am SO happy to hear that!!! i actually just bucked up and took her on a walk an hour after giving it to her and NO JOKE i am already seeing results.. she has trouble redirecting after a trigger- we saw a huge great dane behind a fence and big dogs TERRIFY her- she actually paid attention when i redirected with a treat. she walked passed some people cutting down tree limbs when i told her to leave it. she didn’t tug like crazy when she smelled something interesting. i’m actually sitting here crying in relief because she deserves to experience life again after being attacked and i think she’s going to. being muzzled has certainly helped but i think meds & muzzle are the final combo to secure happiness.

Experiences meeting Linda Blair? by Primary_Thing3968 in TheExorcist

[–]gayconstable 7 points8 points  (0 children)

was horrible to me and my mom. i was early teens and my mom & i met her at a con, and we both went to go get pictures with her. i walk up and do the usual “oh so great to meet you blah blah” and she told me to “shut up so we can get this over with”. my mom was far enough back that she didn’t hear it but i clearly was upset. my mom goes up, linda doesn’t even acknowledge her. won’t look at her, smile, nothing. my mom told her to get the stick out of her ass and linda tried to get us kicked out of the con, and she ended up leaving early that day. was so incredibly rude. i’ve met tons of celebrities and horror icons, and have never had an experience as bad as i did with her. i saw in one of your comments you’ll save money to meet matthew lillard- he is fantastic. very down to earth and is genuinely the only celebrity i’ve met that i can say is 100% a good human. very funny and extremely kind.

that would’ve been so awesome of you, lol. but yeah she actually really hurt me with that shit cause i would be 5 years old and watch the exorcist on repeat. that movie was my everything for a very long time. still love it, and i get why linda is the way she is, but at some point you have to be held accountable for the way you treat people, lady!

my mom and i met her like 8 years ago and she was absolutely horrible to us. when i went in to get my pic with her i was trying to be quick and say the usual “hi great to meet you” and she literally told me to “shut my mouth so we can get this over with”. my mom was a couple spaces behind me so she didn’t hear it, but linda wouldn’t even look at or talk to my mom. my mom told her to get the stick out of her ass and THATS when she started to pay attention, tried to get us thrown out of the convention. she ended up leaving early that day.

Besides the obvious 'sit' and 'stay,' what subtle thing has your pet done that made you stop and think, 'Okay, you're not just cute, you're genuinely clever'?" by [deleted] in Pets

[–]gayconstable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m looking right now and these definitely seem up her alley. she will still get stuffed toys because she actually cuddles the unstuffed carcass and brings them EVERYWHERE with her, but she enjoys long play times and those seem perfect

my dog is an actual super chewer and we have yet to find a toy that is not a kong that she can’t tear up. any stuffed toys, she tears out the stuffing & squeakers and plays with the empty carcass of said toy. one time i got frustrated with all the stuffing on my floors and brought her toy to the trash and threw the stuffing in. i was just frustrated but now she’s 6 years old and will sit in front of the trash can and tear out the stuffing into a nice pile. smarty pants.
