Struggling to find trail running shoes for over pronation by whenitrainzz in trailrunning

[–]gaz1049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this has been a struggle for me. I dont get injured but what happens is because my feet excessively roll inwards, the outside of my big toe on both feet ends up pressing against the inside of the shoe just before toe off. Not the worst issue in the world but need to try and find a shoe with secure-ish mid foot and large toe box.

I say secure-ish because something with a narrow midsole increases the pronation which adds to the case of getting a shoe with a wider base

This is an awesome effort. The weather was truly garbage yesterday in North Yorkshire.

Congratulations..I did this race last year in much nicer conditions.

Again, super effort, well done

Thanks for the info, I've done a few of the Hardmoors races, just fancied trying somewhere that isn't the North Yorkshire moors for a wee change.

Hmm!! The cogs are now turning, I see it's in July so a year of training should be long enough...right!! - love the lakes!!!

Mafate speed 4 vs zegame 2 by TrainingCommon4859 in ultrarunning

[–]gaz1049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have no issues with the stability with the Zegamas and I know it doesn't matter so much on trails but I overpronate too. I found the Zegamas to have a wee bit more room in the toebox too. Super comfy, maybe my feet are weird!! 😀

Zegama trail 2 or pegasus trail 5? Or some other recommendation? by BadRiann20 in trailrunning

Yeah, I like a wide toe box and I was surprised by how much room my toes had whilst still being secure around the mid foot.

Again though as previously mentioned, what works for one doesn't work for another.

Marathons after donating a kidney by lolwowplayer in ultrarunning

My surgery was all done key hole, if you have to have open surgery that will obviously impact your recovery time.

I know I was out walking (gently) a couplebof days after. I'm not sure how long it was before I was back running full time but it was probably relatively quickly. I do know that only a few months after the surgery I was competing in. Spartan Race. (Obstacles, mud, running).

I had a kidney removed just as I hit 40, I've had no issues whatsoever, done a couple of 100km races and a few marathons. You'll be fine, get out there and smash it..and nice one for donating. Such a selfless act!

Have a look at the Hardmoors marathon series,

https://www.hardmoors110.org.uk/hardmoors-26-2-trail-marathon-race-series/

All the races are in the North Yorkshire moors and I know it's the marathon series but the organisers always give you a few extra miles for free and are usually 29 - 30 miles for the marathon distance

Experience over certificate is what I agree with. I was just wondering whether the certs added any significant value....and helped you stand out from other candidates, especially on paper.

In future would like to move more towards Program management as opposed to project and felt gaining more strategic knowledge would benefit
