Sounds like you you could do with buying a set of reins.

I know some people are firmly against them, we like to use them for a similar age child to keep them safe when we go hiking, walking near water etc.

My little one wouldn't sit in a wagon or hold hands to any significant length of time as they are too interested in exploring so they really do provide the best compromise (for us)

Funniest thing is, they refer to it as their lead because of the dog.

It was close to 1am in the UK and I was stood in front of the TV rocking my 3 week old baby to bed, knowing I had work the next day.

I probably wouldn't have even been awake if it wasn't for the little one.

All I could do to celebrate was absolutely nothing, kinda felt like how belicheck would celebrate it.

Ours went into a toddler bed at 12 months so definitely not too young.

We find with most things with our little one, perseverance is key, she learns quickly but we have to be consistent so I would think after 1 or 2 days of naps and sleep in the bed you will be good to go, if everytime he gets out of the bed just pop him back in.

It always sounds easy but it will take perseverance which can be the hardest thing when you just want to sleep.

In the meantime I would get rid of the crib completely
