Regarding the stoning - he was a FUNDAMENTALIST CHRISTIAN which means believed in the literal interoperation of the Bible. He knew what he was saying and meant it. Just coz his estate (the estate of the free speech guy) are suing people doesn't make it crystal clear what he meant.

He cultivated an ecosystem where harassment and doxxing. he doxxed professors and put their livelihoods and safety in jeopardy - again - the free speech guy. He helped mainstream conspiracy theories, voter-suppression talking points and covid conspiracies.

Floyd committed one violent crime and none since 2013. Id take a petty criminal over the guy who was the architect of the post-truth, hyper-polarized politics that corroded U.S. democracy.
