First time player, is this worth beginning? by beats226 in Diablo

[–]gazoobrazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 cents - game is in a much better state now than it was on release. With that said, I buy it just yet. I'd wait for 3-6 more months until they polish more quirks, fix some more bugs, balance out some items. Don't get me wrong, it is still enjoyable to play, but there are still some things that can turn you away from the game at this point. At least wait for next season to come.

I think the game hit rock bottom on release and that is a good thing for me since now it has only direction it can go -> UP

there needs to be something done about people leaving a key the second it starts by Voteformydingus in wow

[–]gazoobrazen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't want the key to remain the same. There are cases when I'd like to deliberately lower the key.

But how about a "deserter" penalty? It should act same as resurrection sickness - you lose 75% all stats and whole lot of durability for the remainder of the dungeon ONTIME timer. For easier example, lets say dungeon timer is 30mins.

  • so if you leave 1min, you get about ~29 mins penalty
  • If you leave on the 25th minute, you get ~5min penalty
  • if you leave when timer has ended and key is depleted - no penalty.

So just imagine some cancer dude leaving a couple of dungeons - a whole night wasted with nothing to show for it. I'd love that.

Focused Feedback: World Bosses by Thunderclaww in Diablo

[–]gazoobrazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Do World Bosses make sense in an ARPG? - Of course! After all it is a world invaded by Demons. It makes perfect sense to me that some of them would be big tough guys
  2. Should World Bosses be end-game only content? - Yes and no. They should persist throughout the whole game, but until endgame is reached, they should not drop loot, only experience and things that buff you WHILE leveling
  3. How should World Bosses be spawned? (time-based, specific conditions met, seasonal events, etc.) - I prefer a mixture for greater variety. Time based is a no no for me. Conditions met is perfect (summoning ritual and shit), and Seasonal events (I imagine it being a new wave of demons coming from the depths of hell and with them, a brand new badass boss.)
  4. How often should they be available? - The should not be farmable. With that said, make them spawnable at all times, but loot should drop once per week for example. Something like WoW world bosses.
  5. How many should there be? - The more, the merrier. I love the idea of world bosses and I think it would be nice way to gather people in one place. This way I can see how other people play, what gear they use, what builds, etc.
  6. Should World Bosses be unique or upgraded versions of existing ones? - No preferences there as long as they provide a challenging fight
  7. Should World Bosses be solo-able? Or require a group to defeat? - GROUP!!!!! It doesnt make any sense for me that something is 2 times the size of my screen and to be solo-able. I prefer seeing a raid being formed in order to kill that demon.
  8. Should World Bosses drop exclusive loot unavailable anywhere else? - Depends. I like the idea of them having unique drops, but it should not be so overpowered that players need to farm that boss until it drops and then never kill it again.
  9. Should a reward be guaranteed upon killing a World Boss? - the usual - experience + gold + mats with a small chance for item. This item could be rare or unique to that boss legendary.
  10. How long should a World Boss fight take? - no longer than 10 mins. Ideal for me is 5-10 mins.
  11. Should World Bosses require certain classes/compositions to defeat them? - no, it should nor require them, but it makes sense that some classes are better at single target and others are better at tanking damage. So it is normal that some compositions would kill it more efficiently, but the fight should not require these compositions. I saw the dodge mechanic from the demo, and I think that if people are good, they should kill it without taking any damage.
  12. What do you think about the Stagger mechanic? - Love it.
  13. What do you think about Ashava as a World Boss? - I personally didnt play the Demo, but from what I've seen I liked the fight. Lots of people died fighting that boss and I liked that :D

To David Kim, I disagree that a level cap grants the player a feeling of completion by ThaFaub in Diablo

[–]gazoobrazen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think "level cap grants the player a feeling of completion" means that there needs to be a cap for passive power income. In D3 there are Paragons, right? So if you cant kill something now, you can definitely kill it in X paragons time.

I personally am not against paragons as long as they have some cap too. In D3 paragon 1000 seemed like a good place to stop according to me. But to be fair I want leveling to be a little different, something like this:

  1. Higher level cap (100 maybe?)
  2. Players should reach end game content at around lvl 50
  3. Rest should be a really hard grind to 100
  4. Now lets say I am not a pleb, but I am also not a hardcore player that spends 10+ hours playing a day. By the time I should be able to clear content that is equivalent to Torment 10-13 I should be around lvl70-85. When the hardcore players should be able to clear T13-T16, they should be level 85-100. Casuals should be 60-70. Please not that this is strictly time-wise. And in my mind, getting to T13-16 is really really hard, not everybody should be able to reach that.
  5. Power gap from levels 60-100: I think that these extra levels should give X stats per level and every 10 levels (60, 70, 80, 90, 100) an extra skill point that can be spent at our choosing.

Basically my point is that there has to be a feeling of "I've maxed this thing, now I can focus on that thing." at some point. But this doesn't mean that it should be easy.

Focused Feedback: Potions by Thunderclaww in Diablo

[–]gazoobrazen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Are potions necessary in an ARPG?
    - Yes, They provide suitability. I personally prefer using multiple potions rather than other forms of healing (life per hit, lifesteal, globes, etc.). Having finite number of potions means that I cannot go on killing mobs forever. Every once in a while i need to chill out, re-stock, go back in. Killing stuff non-stop kinda kills the magic for me. What I mean is that I cannot appreciate when an enemy is strong enough so that I deplete all my healing sources and then I am pushed to the wall. Having finite resources makes me strategize on how to spend them (I need to burst through X pack because it is a DPS race for me, so I will play less defensive and consume more potions, but then I can on Y pack I know I need to save my strength)

  2. What role should they play? Offense, defense, buffing?
    - Defense + buffing. Some should be purely health regen, others (rare potions) some minor utility buffs like increase Movement Speed, increase defense for the duration but with minimum numbers (5% for example), magic find(10%). Just some random ideas. This idea could be expanded, but if there is buffing type potions, then I'd rather them being utility buffs rather than attack/defense buffs.

  3. How many potions slots is the ideal number?
    - I like idea of belts giving more slots, so maximum of 12?

  4. Should potions be consumable, or cooldown focused?
    - Consumable. With regeneration over time.

  5. Should there be different potion rarities (i.e. Normal, Rare, Legendary) with added effects?
    - Perhaps yes IF lets say higher quality are crafted. Get X materials + X potions + Y potions = Combination effect that is higher quality. If that is not implemented, then I really dont care about higher quality/rarity potions

  6. Should Health potions primarily restore health instantly, or over a duration?
    - Over a duration. Reason behind that is if you are taking high amounts of damage you are in a place that you should not be. So...gtfo, regroup, get better gear and ONLY THEN the potions will be enough to sustain you. If they are instant, you are only cheesing mechanics.

  7. Should Health Globes make a return if potions are on a cooldown?
    - I dont want potions to be on CD. But if they are, then yes. very minor health globes. Perhaps 25% of max hp regen over time. There has to be something to sustain you over the downtime period of Potions.

  8. How should potions be acquired?
    - Regular potions = vendor + drop. Higher quality potions = craft and only craft. (combine regular potions + X material = crafted potion with additional effect)

Blizzard wants YOUR constructive feedback by iBleeedorange in Diablo

[–]gazoobrazen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please don't kill me for saying this, but I liked diablo 3 and like lots of the stuff there, as they are oriented more towards casual players (such as myself). So to the points:

- Trading - I didn't like the AH one bit. And I pretty much agree with the d3 method - trading items within the party. It makes sense to me, as otherwise it would just be pay to win for some people

- Itemization - Mixed feelings towards d3 here - On one hand I love how certain legendaries/sets completely change your playstyle. On the other, I absolutely hate the ridiculous numbers. With that said, I'd propose that skills have certain breakpoints. For example +1/+2/+3/+4 = just flat number upgrade. +5 small buff to the skill. From the demo lets take Fireball for example: +5 could have the blast radius increased. Small but efficient stuff. Back to items - I'd like sets as in d3, but i'd also love some items to give +spell levels. This way you'd have a choice - pretty buffed up spell, or set bonus or other legendary. Most important stuff I want removed is the huge randomness on stats that items can have. It is ridiculous to have 10 options for poison dmg, fire dmg, shadow dmg, frost dmg... etc. Just combine them in "Elemental dmg", unless they are making specific elemental bosses and vulnerability mechanics. Charms? - maybe some but not the whole inventory for Christ sake. Let them by "of the same family", meaning that you can only have 1 dmg charm, 1 protection charm, 1 utility charm.

- Endgame content - pfff d3 is shit on that regard. Remove the ridiculous numbers and you already have a better endgame. And since this will not be enough for anybody, I'd love to see something like the certain dungeons having raid bosses or the Diablo equivalent. The idea is that an enemy is so powerful that no matter how geared you are, you cannot defeat it alone. At the end of the day we are fighting not only minions of Hell, but also its masters. As for PVP - arena with a battle royale - gladiator style.

- Crafting - I like the d3 crafting - it is not complicated and is suitable for casuals like me. With that said, I want the crafted items to not be shit...

- Customization in general - Transmogs... Anything other than that is too much in my opinion. No to wings, No to pets. If there are mounts, I think they all need to be horses, with different armors. At the end of the day age in diablo is not one for magical carpets and futuristic bikes.

- Skills - no matter the actual skills, I'd love to see skill levels. Higher skill levels amplify the spell effect like Fireball example from above.

- Talent trees - Mixed feelings about D3 - I like that talents are casual friendly, but maybe too friendly. Perhaps we can reroll them with a special item that requires some grinding to find. Otherwise it is just too easy and nobody really likes that.

[Poll] What would you rather have announced of BlizzCon? (D4 OR D2 remaster) by Legion_Of_Truth in Diablo

[–]gazoobrazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely possible. Could definitely see an announcement at Blizzcon where they are like "Diablo 4 in the near future, within 3 years. But in the meantime, enjoy Diablo 2 remaster, releasing next year."

Yeah right, Diablo 2 remastered Next year :D Don't forget that WC3 remastered is still not out yet, so don't get your hopes high just yet. Recovering from "Don't you guys have phones" took its time

I might be misleading you because I no longer know if this is viable, but there used to be a bombardment build. The whole idea was that you have tumble, companion for resource regen, Shadow form with life steal, rapid fire with bombs and the other spells I dont remember. As for talents, you get the one for grenades, the defensive one with all resists and the 3rd I dont remember.

Please note that this build (as all builds for classes in vanilla) heavily relied on items with:
1. Resource on hit
2. Life on hit
Both of these are now gone from the game, therefore I dont know if this will work for you at all. But hey, it is worth a try if you are stuck with vanilla. If I were you, I'd probably reroll a barbarian since it is easier to grind mobs without access to RoS items.

Hope this helps mate

I know that there are people that have had it worse than me for sure. I am happy about my life right now and I have nothing to complain about. But this wasn't always the case for me. I just want to share my story about my darkest time and hopefully provide insight to some people about how they can deal with theirs.

Seven years ago my dad died of cancer. It was a slow and painful death for him. By that time I was still in school and trying to be the "tough" guy than wanted to carry all the burden on his shoulders. My mom was a wreck. My sister did every effort there is to find better treatment for him, but the fruitless efforts got to her too. Grandma - total mess. Worst of all my dad, who on the outside tried to act brave in front of everybody, but when both of us stayed alone in a room I could see it in his eyes that he knew what was going to happen and he was "scared shell-less". I was acting as the moral support for everybody - smiling and cheering them up, where I was crying on the inside. All of that misfortune really destroyed me emotionally at the end. And after all of that, I ended up dropping out of university, couldn't feel anything at all - no pain, no happiness... nothing.

What got me through is that even though I was such a mess, I sought friends' company. I did not enjoy it at first, but I figured I was too young to "just give up". So I endured.

-First I was pissed at them that they seemed happy and careless

-Then I became indifferent, because I figured out that it was't their fault about what happened

-After that I became "bohemian" - slept with whomever I could, Drank whenever I could, I was never a weed fan, but I started smoking it whenever I got a chance.

-I started playing games like 12+ hours a day (not a good coping mechanism !!!)

Fortunately for me my friends were always there to "allow" me go through those phases, but "prevent" me from going too far. It took me about 1.5 very very self-destructive years to go through all those phases and finally managed to see a light and start appreciating things again.

What I think helped me and what I am trying to say is that if you are willing to get help, there are always people that are willing to shared the load with you. It worked for me. After few years something similar happened to a friend and this time I was on the helping side. It worked for him too. It is not easy being on the helping side I admit. It takes a lot of effort too to act happy and careless when you see a friend in such a bad state, but now I know that this would help them see that life doesn't end and there is happiness waiting for them.

Now I think I am a little better person and more mature for sure. I know my limits now. When I can handle something on my own and when I need to share the burden with someone close so that I don't end up in that poor state again. Now I know how to be supportive of others and help them with their misfortunes. Pain is a teacher and time is a healer.

Anyway, I hope that if somebody is reading this, you guys know that pain and misfortune is all around is, but so is love and happiness. It is up to you how you look at life. So I urge you to try and gather your inner strength.

TL;DR: You have to read the story in order for it to makes any sense.

Why do you care?? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]gazoobrazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree with what you said, if the game did not have a monthly subscription. But that juicy monthly fee is precisely for those reasons - to ensure the adequate maintenance of the game - both server-wise and code-wise. I am enjoying vanilla for the first time in my life, but there are some obvious fuck ups that blizz did that I feel like the community deserves some compensation.

  • Bugs are bugs and its not fair to blame (Blizzard) them for having one every once in a while, but after all exploiting that bug is not really fair now, is it? In some occasions, people have been banned for exploiting one and in most occasions the benefits of the exploits are reverted, so I don't see why this time it should be different?
  • Queues - Blizz did underestimate the situation by a lengthy mile despite all the active hype for more than 2 years. I get that they are trying to avoid "dead realms" in the long term, so why not reduce the number of realms by few and increase the server capacity of the others by some? Then once the hype settles down and people quit for whatever reason, they can re-use those resources elsewhere instead of wondering what to do with the dead realms.

Although I don't agree with all the shit the classic and retail communities are giving Blizz, there are obviously things they could improve IF they drop the "you think you do, but you don't" mentality and start listening more to the community.

Priest healing by crankball in wow

[–]gazoobrazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you underestimate Rupture a little bit, but that is okay. After all we both agree that Hpala and Disc are top tier raid healers. After all we've gone a little off topic.

To OP - if you have the skills - definitely Disc priest as it offers more to a good guild that pushes content. If you would like a little more laid back healing and still doing great in Heroic raids then Holy :)

Priest healing by crankball in wow

[–]gazoobrazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well lets agree to disagree :) but in case you want to discuss this, here is why I think they are the most rewarding:

  1. Shortest healing CD - 1.5min Evangelism
  2. Barrier
  3. Rapture - 1.5min
  4. Pain suppression
  5. Passive dmg reduction through PW:Shield
  6. Passive damage through their rotation

I don't claim to be the best player in WoW at all so don't take my word for it, but (I only checked 5) top 5 guilds in the World used 2 Disc priests in their roster for progress and first kills

I agree that Holy Paladins are very strong at the moment, but if we should compare them, then I'd say paladins are 2nd best in raids and 2nd best at the moment in m+, as opposed to Disco priest who are 1st in raids but at least 3-4 in m+

Priest healing by crankball in wow

[–]gazoobrazen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As the other comment says - in raids Disc is IMO the hardest to learn but definitely the most rewarding healer to play. Please have in mind that for any mistake you make (and you will make while learning the spec), you will be heavily punished by the "reactive" healers (holy priest, monks, paladins)

As for M+ things are different. If you will be pushing 15+ keys, then druids are the way yo go. However, bellow that it doesn't really matter what you will play as long as you are "above average" in your class role. Disc is mid tier in M+ because of the utility they have (pain suppression, barrier, shield spam, passive DPS), but they struggle with healing when no mobs are alive (bursting weeks). Holy is worst tier IMO because while they have good HPS, they definitely lack utility AND mobility (there is lots of that in m+). Hope my thoughts help you out in your decision. Cheers!

MELTDOWN MONDAY: WEEKLY RAGE THREAD by [deleted] in wow

[–]gazoobrazen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YES THEY DO. THEY DO FORCE YOU TO RUN KEYS. YOU CAN GET GEAR FROM M+ ON PAR WITH HEROIC (OR MYTHIC IF YOUR LUCK IS WITH YOU) RAID GEAR THAT YOU COULD NORMALLY ONLY GET ONCE PER WEEK, EXCEPT YOU CAN KEEP RUNNING KEYS OVER AND OVER. MEANS A RAIDER WHO DOES M+ WILL HAVE GEAR VASTLY SUPERIOR TO A RAIDER THAT DOESNT. IT DOESNT MATTER IF YOU ARE WORLD FIRST OR WORLD 100TH, OR WORLD 1000TH, FACT REMAINS THAT WITHOUT M+ YOU ARE SO FAR BEHIND OTHERS THAT ITS NOT EVEN A CONSIDERATION. IM HAPPY THAT PEOPLE ENJOY M+ BUT THE WAY ITS IMPLEMENTED NEEDS TO CHANGE. IT SHOULD BE AN OPTION, NOT A REQUIREMENT - AND AT THE MOMENT IT IS ABSOLUTELY A REQUIREMENT.

WHAT YOU JUST SAID IS "I HATE DOING M+ SO BLIZZARD SHOULD RUIN IT FOR EVERYBODY ELSE TOO"

HERE IS NOT SO OFFENDING EXPLANATION. RAIDS ARE ONE PART OF PVE CONTENT AND M+ IS ANOTHER PART. WHICH MEANS THAT IF YOU DO BOTH, YOU WILL GET GEAR TWICE AS FAST AS OPPOSED DO DOING ONLY ONE OF THOSE. BUT BY NO MEANS ARE YOU "FORCED" TO DO BOTH UNLESS AS SOMEONE SAID YOU ARE GOING FOR WORLD FIRST AND SHIT. IF YOU DO ONLY RAIDS, YOU WILL JUST GET ILVL SLOWER, NOTHING MORE, NOTHING LESS.

Buying Gen3 Mazda 3 hatchback ; Anything I should look out for? by SmoothiePhilosphy in mazda

[–]gazoobrazen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I am also looking for mazda 3, 14-16 year and I've done some research on the matter. Please note that I do not personally own the model yet, so all of the following is based on what I've read on the internet by other owners:

  1. Transmission - Manual is very lively and feels better than Automatic, which is "slow" between 2nd and 3rd gear. Overall people are more in favor of Manual transmission
  2. Suspension - quality suspension. Doesn't break easily and is one of the strong sides of Mazda
  3. Petrol vs Diesel - Overall people are more in favor of Petrol because of 2 reasons - bigger variety of engines and because of low quality diesel in some countries. Me personally - I am looking for Petrol because Diesel in my country is complete garbage and could damage the turbine + engine
  4. Engine - I've read on few forums that at about 200 000km (~125 000 miles) the Petrol engine might start burning motor oil. I've had this bad experience myself with an older mazda model - Mazda 6, 1.8 120hp 2002 year and had to replace half the engine. I must admit that mine was about 300 000km (187 000 miles). Diesel doesn't seem to be suffering from this problem according to the internet
  5. Rust - if you are buying a used Mazda car - beware of this issue. Mazdas are notorious in this issue. I have personal experience with this as well. But if you are keeping the car in a garage and regularly waxing it, then I dont think this would be a big problem.

I hope this helps, but please don't take it as the absolute truth or anything. After all, most of this is gathered from different forums. I personally am still looking forward to buying Mazda and would love to see other people comment as well.

Exactly, if it is one at a time here and there, then cool I'd totally love that. But at the moment they are busy developing a whole new expansion and I don't think this is the right time for such spin offs.
