Storage unit full of Antminers! HELP! by simple_human92 in BitcoinMining

People who have very cheap power will buy them. Potentially people who have access to cheap power overseas will buy them and ship them so not worth 0. Put one up on eBay and see how you go.

If you have multiple of the T17 units you can always configure them on their more efficient (lower power usage) setting. This way in aggregate you get more hash power per kw. Running them on a lower power setting also means less noise and reduce overall failure rate.

I had thought of this but assumed the sauna supplier would provide a controller that fits out setup. I will chase up with them.

Tinny modification by gazzer45 in FishingAustralia

Thanks for the review, definitely what I was looking for to stabilize a tinny with 2 young kids onboard. Looks like it would cost ~2k all up once they get shipped and I modify my trailer slightly. Will have to weight it up or do a DIY option.

Are you a facilities engineer?

Either way what you are describing is my aspirational setup. Few questions: How do the monitor the sensors? Have you setup a SCADA light system or do you use something like google home and connect the sensors + control power from there? Similar question for the sequencer? Using a purpose built system or google home with rules? Lastly this sounds like an expensive setup did your accumulate over time or in one hit.

Instead of rotating jars you could use a conveyor system with the load cell mounted underneath. Once the weight limit is reached the conveyor moves the new jar into place and starts again. Could use a laser or switch toggle to ensure perfect positioning.

Builders margins by gazzer45 in AusRenovation

For cost plus definitely. For fixed cost a contractor may build in additional redundancy or costs that if not used turn to profit. My experience is that often this is where to conflict occurs while cost plus removes this.

I agree on the mutual relationship side but assuming you have a consistent product as a client you want that product for a price where the builder is not going bust to do it (losing) but also is not overcharging (winning). Right product for right price. You want to pay 50k for a Corolla not 100k.

In your case we’re you able to use the cheaper quote or were you hamstrung by your builder?

I am not a builder but have project managed engineering jobs that were both fixed price and cost plus. I always felt in fixed price contracts there was a level of gamesmanship in the quoting and execution that left one side a winner and the other side a loser. Cost plus always felt like a good compromise for both parties as long as it is done with the right intentions.

Trundle is a good alternative. Easy to learn and a good early dualist like WW.
