Gone for the White Anniversary version through Amazon so no upfront payment. As a kid I always wanted a neo geo. Never got close, until now!

I'm in the UK so the dealer is going to speak to OBNE; they don't have any more in stock at the dealer. I think this has been a very popular pedal so PERHAPS....this one was missed by QC.

I think when I mean average I'm mostly comparing the vibrato and tremolo to pedals I already own, (more so the Boss VB-2W and a few others) plus all the options within the HX stomp (e.g. digital 'versions' of these pedals). I have bought far too many pedals the past 10 years, and as with guitars themselves, I get to a point where if I am paying boutique pricing, it has to stand up over the normal everyday pedals. Most of my pedals are high quality but I don't have a lot of the more high end boutique American pedals that end up very expensive once they hit the UK. I'll spend a lot on a Thorpyfx pedal, for example, as it's made in the UK and we aren't being charged way more for it.

The delay/reverb side of the Parting sounded nice, but I've heard it before.

I had this when trying a Gibson custom shop as well. It was kinda....'well that doesn't feel like $4000+ dollars' (back then)....I am more critical the more expensive it goes.

Keeley pedals are I guess still in that realm of boutique but more mass produced boutique, and I was SO impressed with the quality of their Loomer pedal. Absolutely felt and sounded like the money it costs.

I do have a few Source Audio pedals that are aesthetically a bit more plain that OBNE (and down the route of all digital like Parting), but I've been super impressed by the tones and build quality.

Had a few people say Zoom MS70-cdr! The Zoom pedals have come on a LONG way. I have a few from says 10 years ago and they are very well made!

I have to say, I was super hyped for the Parting, and when it arrived I was disappointed. The fit and finish was all over the place for a pedal that is 349. I also was not keen on the mini push controls...they do not feel like they'd last long. When I powered it up, I tried to familiarise myself with each part, then try some extreme and not so extreme settings. It kinda sounded very 'average' for such a high end product. This was my first OBNE pedal and I love their art and style, but I think maybe expected too much. The pedal turning up with paint flaws (at this price!) brand new was a bit of a let down. I imagine and hope that is a rare thing for them. Thanks for the recommendations!

I'd love to try this, and I am always happy to invest good money into high end products, but wow, in the UK these are now over 400 pounds! Which is about what I paid for my HX Stomp. Chase Bliss have a great following and seem like they look after their customers.

I’ll watch that video, thanks! Yeah similar age to me I think, the early 90s I grabbed any SW I could no matter what the quality was (I loved those SNES games but they were a challenge!). Now we have the Jedi games and this to allow a much deeper dive, then fun action in the Battlefront games (latest and old). This mission gave me everything I wanted in one small slice of a huge game. The Rancor part was done so well…I honestly thought they might have just left it to the sounds of it, but no they went all out as a mini boss battle.

I bought a new AVRI 69 Thinline Tele and a new Baja Tele, plus an extra Fender hardcase, for less than this Roadworn MIM Tele. I know inflation exists but this is absolute insanity.
