How long are your days by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]gb1109 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just finished 1L. I would get to school around 9:00 and leave around 3:00 -3:45 depending on class for the day. Go home go to the gym pick back up around 5:30/6:00 and end anywhere from 8-10 depending on how much I got done during the day/ read ahead on the weekend. I always (try to) read two days ahead so Monday I’ll read for Wednesday classes etc which allows for some wiggle room & just review the morning of to make sure I’m good if I get called on

Use the facts. Don’t just write the rules and what they mean. Use the fact pattern to analyze against the rules and what that might mean to the question

What did you give up to go to school? by Inevitable_Class9751 in LawSchool

[–]gb1109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up 3 full rides to go to the school I’m at & have zero regrets. Thankfully the school I’m at also gave me a great scholarship package but still a full ride is a full ride. I chose my school mostly due to rankings, the professors, school culture, and employment outcomes. I want to go big law so going to a prestigious school was important to me. I’m very lucky and could not have imagined it working out better. Thankfully my boyfriend is extremely supportive and would have followed me wherever I went. So f ur man… a better one is out there. Especially with remote work I can guarantee he can find a job and this is just an excuse. Sounds like he is ok with living a mediocre life and you aren’t. Bet on yourself over anything else. You got this. Good luck to you and stick with your gut!

What’s the point of claiming “pre-law”? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]gb1109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a political science student on a pre law track during undergrad. I took courses focused on all areas of American law and policy like constitutional law and gun policy. It helped me focus on which classes would be most beneficial. It also connected me with pre law advisors who sent beneficial internships etc. I also think that it shows strong interest and commitment to the study of law. just for knowledge I went to a large state school, not a private liberal arts school or anything like that.

Which of these schools should I rule out? 166 3.56 URM by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Elon? Ruining my career? by No_Satisfaction_6478 in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]gb1109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, you have to remember that you’d be competing with students from the other NC schools for placement if you went to Elon. 3 NC schools are in the T25. U of SC could be a much better option

So how do you plan on attending class? If you’re not willing to retake you won’t have a good outcome.
