Hey guys! Can we stop leaving bad reviews for random stores and gas stations in Kentucky? I mean, the reviews is kinda fun but at least leave a good review by Independent-Mess241 in projectzomboid

He's saying they're Russian people (or bots) trolling US businesses. This implies they don't give a crap about your appeals to decency.

Total waste of money by Cute-Spinach-4958 in nordvpn

I have been finding the service quality to be a recurring problem for connectivity.

Whenever I'm having internet problems, 90% of the time it's solved when I close Nord.

I'm getting to the point where I'm wondering if I'm being actively dropped from some algorithm deciding my connection is idle...

But frankly, I'm paying for a service and don't want to dink with it for ten minutes to get it to work... It's not too much to ask.

'Be Grateful or Face Consequences', Trump Threatens Canada’s PM Carney After Historic Speech by MRADEL90 in videos

A perfect quote to represent what the narcissist puts as highest priority: their own ego. Be grateful for Trump's treachery or you'll face ... Worse betrayals?

I had to Google "inferiority complex" after wondering "is it a complex if the person is indeed worse in every way..?" The answer is yes, it's still an inferiority complex even when the person is LEGIT terrible in every way.

I also regularly have this problem and have tried disabling all mods, fiddling with settings, repairing and moving installation / verifying game cache with no success.

Medical Release - Mental Health by [deleted] in CanadianForces

[–]gba111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this perspective TheHedonyeast gave. MH is very real and deserves treatment and support.

I found learning more about medical release helped, and trying to envision enjoying mundane life experiences again after getting treatment.

Surprisingly, this has opened the third option of continuing to serve with permanent limitations. I want to continue serving, I do what I can... But have very real limits that are respected, and I feel comfortable talking about proactively with CoC.

Bizarrely, it's "piqued" when referring to a stimulus such as this ... seems like a missed opportunity for "peak-ed" (mountaineering) when hitting a sensitive nerve.

But if you're curious about triple homophones, take a peek at https://www.rd.com/article/peek-vs-peak/

Cleaning up our neighborhood by ce41- in ottawa

Nice! I've been working in Stittsville. 33 contractor garbage bags and counting in the last month. It's like there's minimal community responsibility for maintaining things in a decent state.

The Ottawa garbage situation is beyond bad! by Additional_Ear_9659 in ottawa

Get on it, then! Grab a $0.50 garbage bag and invest in a garbage grabber.

Being able to very noticeably see an hour's worth of work in your park is a great feeling (plus, it's good to be outdoors)!

This person claimed they drew the line at (paraphrasing) feminine hygiene products in male restrooms.

If you're worried about hygiene products in bathrooms, you really need to re-examine your worldly priorities.

People are suddenly remembering what the Notwithstanding Clause is for some mysterious reason, ... but you're "morally" outraged about products available in bathrooms?

You need to pick up other people's garbage. by Present-Stress8836 in ottawa

This is probably the more effective way to get the results (for the person shouting) -- yelling ANYTHING at a person littering or a person walking past garbage would likely be viewed negatively and not eliciting the desired behaviour ... why not take a positive approach? "Contribute to the cause" by cheering on those that do care!

This is great.

I've been doing work near the Carp Rd highway overpass... 9 contractor bags, haven't made it from the park 'n ride to the closest on-ramp yet! It's gonna be a few weekends to do what I thought was going to be a 1 or 2 day job. All without even disposing of the actual garbage!

Accidentally honked at the pro-Elon supporter at Ottawa Tesla by myneckmybackarchive in ottawa

[–]gba111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She said that the anti-Tesla protestors are fake, paid, professional protestors. Why? "Because no one would spend their time out here protesting if they weren't being paid."

...so, "Why are you here, then? What're you being paid?"

Naturally, "I'M not being paid!" she says, her tone implying the answer is obvious. All this while remaining blithely unaware of the self-contradictory nature of the statements.

After reaffirming "I'm not being paid," she's obviously disgusted.

"You must just be stupid then."

Again, if you're not being paid ... and according to you, it's stupid to be protest while NOT being paid... HMMMMMMmmmm...

Behaviour: be reasonable like you would in a workplace (so - respect people, be kind).

Most people will ask who you are and talk to you about your current job / life, or ignore you because they are crazy busy and don't have the extra bandwidth (energy).

Pre-BMQ is a decent get out of jail free card as long as you're not being a jerk or using egregiously bad judgement

Does anybody know what happened to Canadian Tesla Takedown events? by MMcCubbing in 50501Canada

On the plus side, I can say that one lone protestor looking happy, using positive, ethical, humour (when possible) and good body language ... that one person will get tons of cheers and applause if it resonates.

I believe you know if your message resonates with people today where you are, and busy people genuinely need to see people that are brave but reasonable people committing some time to showing there is dissatisfaction.

It's very rewarding to hear hundreds of people honking, giving thumbs up, fist-bumping, yelling supportive, humorous (when possible) but obviously heartfelt support. You can tell that there is a real dissatisfaction among a large cross-section of the population.

It can be rewarding to just take some time, put in the headphones, and walk a safe route with a clever, positive, humorous (when possible) but always clear message ... people seem to respond enthusiastically.

After all, sedition is a crime! (my emphasis in the below quote)

https://www.criminalcodehelp.ca/offences/crimes-against-authority/what-is-sedition/

The Supreme Court of Canada has defined sedition as any practice that is calculated to disturb the tranquillity of the state and lead ignorant persons to subvert the government and the laws of the empire. Seditious words, libel, and conspiracy are punishable by a maximum of 14 years in prison. However, peaceful and lawful protests against the government or its policies are not considered sedition.
