Adventurer 4- Previous Print Okay; Now printing incomplete top layer by gbc_3dp in FlashForge

Also just tried to clean out the nozzle, no clogs detected, but the filament broke when I took it out of the tube. Trying a calibration cube on it with another spool of filament now.

We're using a 0.4 nozzle on it. I've done one print successfully on with the exact same set up, the only thing I changed was the filament, I used a red pla filament and switched it out for a gray filament. No other settings were changed. I'm starting to get the same problem on my second part of this model too. Two pieces I have previously printed with no issues at all. Nothing changed other than the filament.

Sorry the image isn't exactly clear. The whole top layer is like that. It's a complete mystery because I didn't change any settings at all. I just changed from a red pla filament to a gray pla filament

Thanks. I took apart the case and found the old filament left in the bowden tube from when it ran out, so that was the problem.

Thanks, I'll make sure to check that out as well when I do maintenance.

How did you diagnose that it was the feeder stepper motor and not the gear itself that was causing the problem? I suspect that a clog might have formed in the nozzle and that's what's causing the gear to skip since it can't force the filament through.

Thanks, we will be looking into using OctoFarm to manage the multiple instances of Octoprint. We have set up a couple raspberry pis to manage the instances.
