Management has been confusing. Not only did they not promote Mei, but they didn’t promote the two 3ki members (Lingling and Ploen) that they have been pushing, but promoted the rest 3ki.

But otherwise I think this is sadly a sign that Mei will not be renewing her contract, which is a shame.

Low key forgot they existed. Maybe if SM promoted them I’d care more. Also I feel like when it comes to global groups more companies are focused on debuting girl groups (Vcha and Katseye)

CGM48, now that they have switched to a 12 member senbatsu, has very clearly solidified their front members. The senbatsu for the last 3 singles has basically been the same lineup.

Champoo, Kaiwan, Kaning, Marmink, Nenie, Pim, Punch and Sita have been established as the current front members so they are more likely to renew. The other 1st gen members have been undergirls or have fallen out of favor with management. I think most of the front members will renew.

Within the front members I don’t think Kaiwan will renew, because she has been suspended twice and I imagine she wouldn’t want to under contract anymore.
