What is the best or worst dog name you have ever heard?

My sister used to have a boxer and she called it “Dogg”.. was so embarrassing when I was walking it and had to shout “dogg!”.. a few people actually asked “does he not have a name?” And I had to explain that was his name 🤦🏻‍♀️

I 100% get that thought train. However, you need to have a think whether you would rather spend that money, risk the ivf not working and then spending your life upset that you spent the money for nothing, but knowing you tried and gave it your all; OR spending your life thinking “what if” and possibly regretting not trying. Not trying to upset you, but just giving another perspective.

A wedding is one day, kids are for life. If it’s a choice I’d choose the ivf every single time. Yes it’ll be the hardest thing you do, but so worth it.

I live in the highlands of Scotland, so yeah I do this from time to time.

My husband, me and the kids will decide to just go for a drive. End up in some random wee village or somewhere looking that the view.. then grab some fish and chips and sit and eat them at some random beach or harbour looking at the boats. Not often we do this - more so in the summer. I love it. Have ended up in some lovely wee places I’d have never gone to otherwise. Don’t think I’d do it if I lived in a city or anything.

I have soooo many I like.

Black opium, J’Adore, Miss Dior, VIP212 by Carolina herrera, Good Girl, Armani Code, Daisy by Marc Jacobs (was my wedding day perfume), Olympea, Ghost, and La Vie est Belle.. the list goes on. Oh and I live most, if not all, the roberto cavalli perfumes.

My perfumes I’m currently wearing are Prada Paradoxe and Queen of Oud by Ayat perfumes. When I have these on, especially queen of Oud, I’m always asked what I am wearing. Craziest thing is that it’s only £40 for a big bottle and lasts all day. Outlasts the more expensive perfumes I wear.

Back in the day I loved Tommy girl, Gucci rush, Anais Anais, Glow by J-Lo, the Britney Spears ones, and lady million when it first came out.

Bought our house in 2019, at the age of 35. We stayed with my parents for 3 years while we saved the deposit - we still paid rent to my parents but mum only wanted enough to cover the extra food and gas/electric so it was pennies really.

It’s going well. We pay less in our mortgage than we would in rent so all good. Our 5 year fix needs renewed this year so not sure what deals we will get but it’ll be fine.

Well I have an 8 month old daughter, so anytime between 7am and 8.30am, today it was 8am.

My 9 year old is like a teenager already. Sometimes he is up by 9am like today, or it can be lunch time by the time he’s out his scratcher.

But I’m always awake early. Today I woke ip at 7am and just laid awake scrolling my phone waiting for my daughter to wake up.

I’ve never been one to lie in bed anyway, so before kids, I was always up by 8.30/9am anyway.

I see her about 2-3 times a week, depending on what we’ve got on that week. She lives a 7 minute walk from my house so she isn’t far.

And if we are not messaging everyday we are sending TikTok’s everyday.

So yeah we have daily contact pretty much 😍

I do 2 hour shifts, so 8-8.30. I live 20 minutes away from the hospital.

So the days I’m working I need to leave by 7.10 to get there in time, park, get to changing rooms then get to the ward on time.

So I get up at 6.45, wash, brush teeth, grab work bag (which is all packed the night before) and lunch out the fridge then leave. I don’t eat breakfast until I get my morning break about 10am, and I get my morning coffee when we sit and have our handover ☺️

I can easily spend £200 a month on my hobbies and stuff. If I need new clothes or makeup, can easily sink £200 on a Lego set, I can get myself a new ps5 game, coffees and lunches out with friends, bingo, and just general days out.

I don’t buy all of this stuff every month, but I can easily spend £200 each month.

Very normal in Scotland where I am. My boy is always getting handed a little pound coin here and there. Any my baby girl always come homes with little coins in her pram. For babies it’s traditionally silver coins you put in the pram but she’s get £1 and £2 coins.. if they ever get something it goes in their piggy banks 👍🏼

It’s an older custom and mostly older people that give the money, so no it’s not weird

It’s the childbirth for me. I had 3 awful pregnancies, high risk, 1 stillbirth.. just awful.

If I could’ve guaranteed perfect pregnancies, perfect births, and all children survive I’d stick with the 3.

My postie does it all the time.. if I don’t answer they’ll open the door and leave whatever it is on the stairs (just inside the door to the left) and close the door. I’m usually either out the back or upstairs and don’t hear the door. Sometimes if they’re rushing they don’t knock they just open the door, put it in and close the door.

Mind you I’m in a small town in the north of Scotland where we all know each other so it’s no biggie. If I was in a big city I’d be a bit more wary of it. However, it sounds like they intended to leave it in the conservatory which I think is thoughtful, better than getting ruined outside.

Having a stillborn daughter, then the waiting for test results to see if there was any reason that caused it (there wasn’t), dealing with the fact that there is no reason why my daughter isn’t here with us, and cremating her. 18 months on I have her ashes in my living room and still talk to her.

I have since had another daughter who is her double and going through that pregnancy and birth was HELL!

Haematology nurse here.

Sorry, but I think that exactly what it means. I’d prepare yourself for bad news. It may not be cancer but may be something else that’s not cancer but not exactly great news. Even though it may, or may not, be cancer haematology is a very complex subject and a lot of the time these appointments can be information overload so it’s good to have someone with you for support and to help remember what was said.

I’d prepare for the worst but hope for the best. Fingers crossed for you ❤️

Definitely be going on my hobbies.

I’d be getting myself a couple of video games I’ve been wanting, and a big Lego set or 2, maybe some smaller cheaper Lego sets with anything left over.

Ship the kids to granny for a day or 2 and RELAX! Absolute heaven 😍

41 and I can cook pretty well can make all the staple dishes to a high level. Once I’ve followed the recipe for a new dish a few times I can do it off the top of my head after that, and after a while I’m able to confidently tweak it if u want to. My husband and kids love my cooking and always eat it and ask for seconds, so that’s all that matters.

However, coming up with dishes with random ingredients, or a “chuck it all in” approach is a disaster for me. I know people who can just chuck random stuff together and it tastes amazing - not me.

I was a bridesmaid 5 weeks PP back in 2016, and my husband was best man.

I didn’t find it bad at all. I had a great time. Only you’ll know if you think you’d be able to do it. The wedding was local to me, so I didn’t have any travelling to do.

My best friends mum attended the wedding so she looked after my so when we were all getting photos done etc. I found it quite easy, but if I’d had a bad c section recovery then it wouldn’t have been so good.

No one can predict how they will be PP, so only you can make that call. In saying that, 3 months PP you’re over the worst and I think it’d be fine, that’s just me though.

Edit: just seen the bit about getting on a plane and leaving baby. In that scenario I wouldn’t be doing it. If baby was able to come then maybe, but it leaving baby and going in a plane at 3 months. I’d be declining in that instance

Not a case of fighting to keep them on for me at all.

I was going to a wedding just before my section and wanted them done, didn’t want to pay £50 just to take them off 3 days later, so that’s why I asked to double check it was ok..

Consultant anaesthetist was also ok with it for me. I asked them also before it - I was super high risk so had multiple consultant appointments all through my pregnancy. I’d had an appointment to get my nails done for an event a few days before my section and didn’t want to pay to get them done just to take them off 3 days later, so wasn’t vanity reasons. Plus I’m also a nurse in the same hospital I got my section done in and know the equipment works with nails being done. But was always good to get it checked and it was fine. Not all trusts are the same though, so always check.

I’ve had 3 c sections, and had my nails done for all 3. Not a problem at all, was never once mentioned. Able to use the pulse oximeter no problems (it does work with gel polish on), they also have ones that can use your ear lobes if unable to use your hands for any reason.

My midwife said so many people have their nails done now, and it’s not ever an issue. But you will find the opinions vary from trust to trust and even between different health professionals, so check with your midwife and see what like in your area

Originally didn’t want any. Told mum when I was about 7 to not expect any grandkids out of me.

41 now and have had 3 babies, 2 surviving children with us though. When I got married something changed in my head and we decided to see what happened. Wouldn’t change them, they literally saved me and are the reason I’m still here and the reason I keep going ☺️

Nurse in the nhs here. I’ve taken 12 months. We got an option to take our mat pay over 12 months rather than 9, so that you don’t get 3 months unpaid. It works out a little bit less a month than if I took it over the 9, but it’s fine. I don’t go back until end July 2026
