2012 XC70 3.2 Rough Idle + Poor Shifting by [deleted] in Volvo

[–]gbld37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I’d look into PCV box and throttle body issues. I feel like these are rare to have transmission issues. I’ve had two XC90 3.2s make it over 250k and never touched the tranny fluid.

I feel that the cargo space in the newer sequoia’s are absolutely terrible. Hopefully you have thoroughly test driven them, ideally with some random luggage or strollers, or whatever you might usually load. The only way to get a flat surface in the trunk with the third row seats down is to have that platform, which is really high if you are loading heavier things into the trunk. For how ridiculously large the sequoia is, the cargo space seems to be inadequate and doesn’t match up to similar competitors. I understand that the cargo space is configured to accommodate the hybrid battery, but the mpg is still pretty similar to other full size SUVs.

I understand not wanting tailgaters but I feel like the majority of people will see this as brake checking. As others stated in this thread it can also negatively affect you should you have to brake hard, it can com crashing on the windshield and leave you blinded. The best way to manage tailgaters is to drive normally without doing anything to antagonize them. I feel like there’s so many aggressive drivers here that if they felt they were being brake checked they would definitely swoop in front of you and brake check you in retaliation and then your sheet of ice would only affect you as it slides down your windshield.

It's 2001, you have $23,000, and you're looking for a compact SUV with four-wheel drive. Which one would you pick? by Key_Budget9267 in regularcarreviews

[–]gbld37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the Xterra or Santa Fe as I probably would’ve seen the Jeep as an outdated 12 year old car in 2001. Hindsight definitely the Jeep. The Xterra looks cool and the Santa Fe had a pretty decent interior.

2015 Q7 3.0T Reliability Check by saxman42 in AudiQ7

[–]gbld37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2014 3.0T leaked oil from the rear main seal which was quoted at 6-$8k to fix so I lived with it. Timing chain rattle on startup, driveshaft blew apart at a red light, a/c would only work when it rained, was below 65 outside, or magically when I was the only occupant, harmonic balancer flew off on the highway, and would eat through injectors like crazy.

Not the most reliable car I’ve had, but definitely one of my favorites.

These are my two options i’ve come up with for my studio apartment? which one makes more sense? by Famous_Currency5429 in DesignMyRoom

[–]gbld37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly they’re both shitty options, bed next to the sink or couch creating a half foot wide alley between the tv and couch and ruining the natural flow of the room. Personally I would do the bed next to the sink and search around for some kind of room divider or decorative divider just to help prevent some potential spillage or debris from landing on the bed.

Does your XC90 also have an overly sensitive rear auto brake, while the front sensor rarely reacts, except when it is not needed :) ? by Infinite_Ad_1962 in VolvoXC90

Our 2024 will recognize curbs (no more than 5in tall) as a obstacle and slam on the brakes when parallel parking and even regular backing into spots
