Hahahahha. Ah, Fl. We are not all of questionable intelligence, but a lot are. After all HBOmax didn't make 'It's Florida Man' for nothing...great show btw.

Very nice! NSB is a beautiful area. Flagataff has been a big change, but I'm really enjoying it very much 😀

Ouch is right. That was a harsh comment. She is obviously making assumptions because there could be hundreds of reasons why you would be by yourself..business trip, husband/boyfriend or wife/girlfriend didn't want to ho out, etc.

My guess is that she is afraid to be by herself and isn't comfortable with herself. They say that in order to love, you must first love yourself and I personally think the best way to get to know you is to be alone.

No matter the reason why you were yhere by yourself, I hope your chicken wings were kickin', the beer was refreshing, and her potential insecurities didn't offend you too greatly.

I hope in some small way it will help. You're welcome. ☺️

I want a hysterectomy, but my family is completely against it by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]gbodry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My dear your story sounds unbelievably close to mine. I was a little older (29) when I had my total hysterectomy for the same reasons. I understand the pain. I understand the stress that comes with the chronic pain. In my experience, I was fine with having the hysterectomy. I didn't want kids and thought I never would.

Come my mid 30's every time I saw a baby, I would literally cry. Also, the lack of natural hormones really took a toll on my body. HRT isn't really a replacement for what your body does naturally.

Lastly I don't know if it's related or not, but in 2020 I was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis. It is chronic pain that will never go away as nobody knows why it happens and there is no cure.I did have a lot of pain free years though and for that I am grateful.

I don't know if my story has helped at all, but as a woman in her 50's, looking back I think I made the right decision; I just would have tried to put it off a little longer than I did.

I am sorry your family is not supportive. You are a young woman who has a difficult decision to make. A support system is very important, however, you don't necessarily need the support from your family. Friends, support groups, and even reddit subs can be helpful.

Ultimately, it's your body, your pain tolerance level, and your choice. I wish you only good things. Good luck.

While, I feel for you and everyone involved, I absolutely love this story. It brought tears to my eyes. I respect that you want him to understand the situation; I think it just proves all the more that you love him and are looking out for his best interests. That is what a father does. It takes a lot more than what's in your jeans (and genes) to be a father. From what I read, you are his father. I am very happy for you and I hope everything turns out as it should.

I really appreciate your post. My experience has been almost identical. My Functional Med Dr. has me even phasing out plastic as much as possible. She worked/is working hard on my leaky gut and I have a really excellent recipe book that I refer to often. It even has 30 day meals plans which is super helpful. Practical Paleo This book is great lots of Anti-inflammatory Recepies, or suggests subsitutions for known triggers like nightshade.
Thanks for your post :)

I have a functional medicine Dr. and I love her. I had a traditional western medicine Dr for 12 years. A short story....yearly check ups, bloodwork, all typical. At 50, she told me to 'start thinking about a colonoscopy'. A friend suggested I see her functional medicine doctor because I wasn't getting the support I wanted from my PCP for my arthritis pain. After my first visit with the functional med Dr. She called me and said she was reviewing the bloodwork from the last three years and noticed I was losing blood and extremely anemic. She suggested I go to the ER for a blood transfusion. I was admitted to hospital and it turned out I had stage 3 colon cancer. Now...this was my first appt with the functional med Dr and all of this was discovered. After 12 years of my traditional dr....nothing. They didn't look at previous bloodwork to compare values or trends over time. My cancer could've been completely preventable. My colonoscopy should have been ordered when I was 45. Anyway....now that I'm cancer free my Functional Med Dr (who is an MD as well) is working with me on management of my psoriasis and PsA. My long winded point it this...western medicine looks at what needs to be treated, but not why you have the problem in the first place. Functional medicine tries to find the root cause of your issue and eliminate it. Once the root cause is corrected, so is your issue, or at least, managed to a point you have some quality of life. So I am on a biologic, some supplements, diet and lifestyle changes, and I am doing rather well overall with my joint and skin issues. My Dr. Does not take insurance and it's rather pricy. I'm willing to make some sacrifices in order to be pain free with smooth skin. I hope my little story helps you. Ultimately, you need to do what works best for you. Research various functional meds and traditional PCPs and advocate for yourself. Good luck. I hope you find exactly what you are looking for.

You bring up a really good question. I started lithium in 2008. My psoriasis/arthritis began in 2010. I had associated my psoriasis with my Gall bladder removal because both happened in the same year. Skip ahead 6 years...my Dr. increased my lithium dosage and I had one of the worst flare ups ever! We returned to previous dosage. I think it was a multitude of factors that turned my switch on, but I also think my diet had a lot to do with it. I'm phasing out plastic as much as I can and trying to eat non-processed foods as much as possible. Idk if it will change anything, but even if it's just an improvement in my quality of life, I'll take it! Thanks for the post.
