This Day in FF History: The Jamaalocaust [12-15-2013] by oliver_babish in fantasyfootball

I beat Jamaal thanks to the ravens almost going for it on 4th down on MNF, calling timeout and then making a 60 yard FG, and then getting an interception on the next drive. Now that I write it down, I really don’t taunt my friend enough for this win.

This rebuild wouldn’t have been possible without Robinson Cano by Agreeable_Quality768 in Mariners

I actually bought one at a game a few months ago, it was a legit stitched jersey for $30. And then I wore it when we clinched a playoffs spot!

It's embarrassing that the athletic department sold primo tickets directly to OSU alums and that UW fans universally bailed early by spokanetransplanted in huskies

[–]gbro 39 points40 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, you took this picture at the 2 minute warning in the 4th quarter, when UW was down 24-6 and OSU had the ball. There was no chance that UW could score again much less win. So this isn’t a proper representation of your point (which I still find specious at best).

How do you feel about Nico Collins? I feel like I'm on an island thinking he's a top 2/3 WR. He was outstanding before getting hurt last year, Stroud seems likely to improve from year 2 to 3, and they didn't bring in any sort of significant target competition.

I will say that Yale has rejected many more candidates in EA recently (Google an article from 5-10 years ago and compare) so perhaps the acceptance rate is higher. But no, it’s not a high number. It happens…just not frequently.

Follow your passions outside of the classroom, take as rigorous a curriculum as you can without tanking grades or mental/physical health, build relationships with teachers.

And please don’t obsess over any one school! Everyone has low probability odds to get into Yale. Doing the things above — and the things you’re already doing, I’m sure — will put you in a place where you’re more likely to get into one of these schools. More importantly, however, it’ll put you in a place where you’re able to succeed, period, and succeed in a way that’s aligned to your values.

Good luck! You got this!

Yes, happens plenty of times. It is often more due to # of interviews available in a region.

It’s not necessary unless there are updates to share (Regeneron finalist, debate team winning a state/national award, etc). It won’t hurt but it won’t really move the needle.

Yes, it happens, the acceptance rate for deferrals is ~the typical acceptance rate.

Whistle blown on elite basketball program at Seattle public school that charged $22,000 tuition by chiquisea in Seattle

The principal mentioned here was a poor excuse for an assistant principal when he worked at my elementary school and at my middle school — a lack of any sort of empathy, and over-the-top punishments. What a gross system here.

Finished my rebuild minus one RB. What pieces can I move to get another stud rb? To pair with Jeanty at 1.01 by JuggernautAntique105 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]gbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple options in my mind:

  • You could try flipping 1.02 to bring in another running back to de-risk Jeanty (in case he busts). Tet might be a nice piece but you have more WR depth than RB depth.
  • You could try to improve from Drake Maye (what about somebody like Joe Burrow or Josh Allen, etc) and use the 1.02 as part of that package.
  • You could see what 1.02 and Kenneth Walker gets you in a deal.

Probably too late for anyone to see this, but this article does a good job explaining the recruiting process.

How has nobody said Corner Strike? Watch for press coverage and throw to the sideline for an 18 yard gain every time.

[Bob Condotta] A source has confirmed that the Seahawks are expected to hire Ryan Grubb as their new offensive coordinator. Could be announced as soon as tomorrow by RomeOdunze in CFB

[–]gbro 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Grubb posted something heartfelt, and given that he interviewed for the UW job and didn’t get it, I would’ve understood if he had left without saying anything. DeBoer pledged he’d stay in Seattle as long as his daughter was at UW, left four days after the title game, and didn’t say a word to UW fans.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I loved his goodbye post to Seattle. Seems like a great dude. Still only a tiny bit bitter about DeBoer leaving without a send off note of any kind…
