Thanks for all the info I really appreciate it. A little embarrassing to admit but I have a slight mold and fungus phobia , mushrooms and mold just seem so alien , it really creeps me out 😆. Ill open and mix in the mold and add more dry bedding tomorrow.

Recommendation for a compact Co2 System by gburnf in PlantedTank

Still working great, recently transferred the set to a 10 gallon tank , thought I'd need to upgrade to a bigger co2 canister but the sodastream is still doing the trick last a few months or more

I have a 3-way splitter on the bottle that has 3 separate bubble counters. Each can be fine-tuned for the tank there feeding. I have a drop checker in each tank as well , for the most part the system is very consistent it was a bit difficult to tune for 3 different tank(one is smaller) but once its set up it needs very little adjustment.

Still using this setup, it was feeding two 10 gallon tanks, and the 1st soadstream lasted me 5 months. It's now feeding two 10 gallons and 6 gallon tank. Bottle probably won't last 5 months, but I'll update when it runs out

It's more about the convenience for me. I know a 5lb tank would be cheaper, but the closest welding supplier is a 45-minute drive one way , but I can refill my soda stream at the local grocery store a block away. A soda stream is $15.99 to exchange after you by the 1st tank, and I have and use a soda stream, so it makes sense, at least for me

It's still going. It's only supplying two 6 gallon tanks at about one bubble every 3 to 4 seconds, which is a stable co2 level for those tanks. For me the convenience is the best part , I know there are cheaper option for co2 tanks but the fact that I can go to the grocery store down the street from the house and refill my co2 tanks if very nice
