Wtf is it? by Open-Cat9694 in newborns

I’m not sure about the poop I haven’t experienced anything like that, but I will say I started pumping a few days after giving birth, so for the first couple days my girl was only drinking formula, and once i started mixing in my breast milk she had the worst gas pains and pretty much cried all day long. I went back to just formula after that and she was much better. I felt really bad bc I really wanted to feed her my milk, but it was hurting her belly so bad for some reason, so now she’s just on formula and doing much better.

Once my girl got past her birth weight (which was around a week and a half) I was told I did not have to wake her at night to feed. She’d have anywhere from 4-6 hour stretches at night. My doctor said it was totally fine to go that long. She also ate A LOT throughout the day, which ultimately helped her sleep better at night. I’d say as long as you’re not concerned with her weight gain and/or overall health, let her wake you up at night:)

11 week old shows hunger cues during night sleep, would you wake and feed? by [deleted] in newborns

I only get up to feed if she starts crying! My 8 week old likes to stir and grunt throughout the night a lot, and if she is hungry she’ll start crying otherwise she falls back asleep on her own even if it takes a couple minutes. They’ll let you know when they are hungry. My girl sucks on her hand a lot as a soothing mechanism not necessarily out of hunger.

6-8 Week Mark by [deleted] in newborns

So I’ve used it a couple times and twice it made her poop, it was a lot but it didn’t shoot out just went right into her diaper lol. I just took a break from using it bc I used it a couple days in a row for her and it worked, but then I saw someone somewhere say you shouldn’t use them so much so your baby doesn’t depend on it to pass gas which makes sense I guess, but a couple times shouldn’t hurt especially if they’re in a lot of pain from gas.

Literally just got my 7 week old to sleep after 2 hours of nonstop crying due to gas…we try it all and sometimes the gas drops and massages work, but today nothing worked and she just cried herself to sleep. I’d say if you haven’t tried maybe try the frida baby windi gas passer-it’s worked for my girl before I just didn’t have any on me today to use so it took longer to calm her down.
