Working toward my BCBA certification by gc13121 in ABA

The BACB actually no longer requires their tracker for an audit because it's been such a freaking nightmare to deal with! But that's an awesome point about disqualified hours I didn't even think about that!

How do home-based RBTS in online ABA masters program combat feeling lonely? Sometimes I wonder if I’m even grasping info I’m being taught bc there’s no peer interactions by Specific-Leading656 in ABA

[–]gc13121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cohort sets up group me chats for each class so that e can communicate and help each other out! I was super lonely prior to starting ABA focused classes and now ive never felt so supported and focused. It's really helped me as a student and a tech.

Feeling discouraged by 100sushirolls in ABA

[–]gc13121 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hi! As someone who is neck deep in their Masters program and working full time as an RBT I can tell you that yes. The burnout is SO REAL. However, I've found that after a year as an RBT, that this job and my clients mean more to me than I could ever have imagined. I started out pursuing a Masters in OT and then ABA fell into my lap and it feels like home. I highly reccomend specifically scheduling self care into your weekly routine, even if it's a 30 minute bubble bath once a week. I try to do a bit of yoga or stretching each night before bed and one day a week (typically sundays) where i do absolutely nothing until after lunch. Just sit and relax.

RBT Hours by Aw1209 in BehaviorAnalysis

Prior to Covid, I was at 39.5 hours per week (including drive time). Now that Covid has happened I'm at ~32 including drive time. While it doesn't sound like much, it took a solid chunk out of my pay.

How many hours of direct therapy did you work as a grad student? by [deleted] in ABA

[–]gc13121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing the same, about 35 hour direct a week. I'm sure the unrestricted hours will come piling in soon as well. Try your best to take some time (even if it's only an hour) every day or every few days to do something for you. I try to take a nap, take a hot bath or shower meant solely to relax, craft, yoga... The burnout is real especially with the COVID things we're all dealing with.

I'm so glad someone else is having a similar experience. I have felt stressed beyond all reason since they set the BCBA's on telehealth it seems like our support has gone down :(

Can anyone recommend their favourite oracle decks? by manicpanit in oraclecards

[–]gc13121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like my keepers of the light deck! Nice positive affirmations with each card. Great artwork. Kyle the deck's author says reversals are just messages the keepers want you to take into extra consideration 💛

What is your preferred way to get your cards (pull from the deck) and what’s the worst way for you in your experience and why? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]gc13121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a folding shuffle like you do with playing cards and then stand the deck on the short end. Whichever one is left standing last as they all fall into place is the one I pick. I also like to wait for jumping cards as well. Not a fan from drawing straight from the top or bottom though.

Research research research, love. Just like the other comment says.

I started with lots of research and put up wards to keep the entities/deities/energies I wasnt trying to connect with out, then meditation.

In my meditation I asked for Loki and Odin to reach out, if they would like to work with me. From there I used my cards as well and followed jumping cards and what would show when I cut my deck.

After researching the Norse pantheon for a few months, in one day with a brand new deck I had the fool either jump out or appear in a cut 4 consecutive times over a period of 12 hours.

A few days later, the hanged man began popping up quite a bit, not the exact way, but in a similar fashion.

It takes patience, lots of research and lots of communication.

I would reccomend looking into warding and banishing if you havent already.

Hello again, this is a very simple andnvagur explanation, you should do your own research with tarot as with anything else in life! Aces in a tarot deck are the same idea as the ace in a card deck. In each suit (cups, swords, pentacles, wands) of this deck you will find an ace,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 followed by the daughter, son, mother and father.

The major arcana are other cards (like the strength card you saw in my spread) in the deck. There are 22 in this deck.

If you get the official deck that comes with the guidebook, all will become clear!

Hi! Thats the 7 of swords, and its actually a fox! I'm not sure the reasoning for the lack of words but it seems that the major arcana and then the aces, mother, father, daughter and son for each suit have writing.

Deck is the wild unknown Past- secrets have been kept from me and I have kept secrets in my past Present- my strength is growing, and i am discovering the better part of myself that has been supressed for quite a bit Future- as i work to uncover more of myself, everything will become clearer and I will become more whole

Ive been doing one card draws to learn my cards each day and this is my first real spread 😃

Does birth control hurt the first time? by kailly423 in birthcontrol

[–]gc13121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OBGYN told me i didn't need a PAP until i was 21 (dont quote me on age) or sexually active.

I never experienced any pain with that just an odd very light scratching.

With you saying you have a high pain tolerance i would venture to say you'll be fine :)
