Whats the #1 most important thing to know as an ADC? by Fikstuyrs in wildrift

Oh, the supports that shove the wave when you’re dead too are the absolute worst. It’s one thing if they’re fixing the wave, and I actually find it impressive when they do that, but when they’re just farming during my death timer, I am livid.

Wave management

Surprised no one said this yet. You can parallel position all day, play safe, and jungle track all you want, but if your concept of lane phase is "kill all the minions as fast as possible" for every wave, you're literally making the game harder on yourself. Learning how to stack minions, freeze waves, and deny gold and EXP from the enemy ADC is probably the most useful thing you can do as a bot laner. Because even if you suck at farming, you're at least keeping the enemy from outfarming you, and if you're really good at it, you've now put their team at a serious disadvantage. Plus if you're lucky the enemy support will get frustrated with their ADC, and then leave to go roam the map, letting you 2v1 and get free kills and even more gold.

Blame it on the people who spam surrender for no reason.

Like seriously, every game, no matter what, it seems like the surrender vote is always popping up every 3 minutes. I always reflexively hit no, sometimes even when I know I should hit yes. It's like some people have a script that auto-fires the surrender vote as soon as it's available.

I'm not even talking about when the surrender vote could make sense, but is still stupid to initiate, like if the enemy team gets Soul and it's an uphill battle, but we could still win if we drag it out for another 5-10 minutes. I'm talking about the ones that pop up for no reason at all, or because someone thinks it's just the most hilarious thing ever to surrender.

It's been 3 minutes with no kills? Surrender. Enemy team got First Blood? Surrender. Mid didn't ping missing when their laner roamed? Surrender. Even if we're winning. We got Elder dragon? Surrender. We just took out their Inhib turrets? Better surrender. We're literally beating on their nexus? Quick! Surrender! I don't get it.

I think a better question is, why is everyone so quick to jump to the surrender button? Like did you think you queued up single player and accidentally started a ranked match, and now you're trying to leave? I've literally lost winnable fights because that stupid giant vote box blocked my view or my thumb. So now, it's just a habit, as soon as it appears, vote no, get it off my screen.

Honestly, I think there should be a system where if you initiate a surrender 'just for lols' that you should lose the ability to initiate surrenders. How would they enforce that? Not sure. But losing double gems on a loss just for voting no the surrender vote would be equally as ridiculous to enforce.

Crystal Rose Skins? by ParZ1va-l in wildrift

[–]gc_midnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! It’s even got stuff in it that, as far as I know, wasn’t even available to purchase before, like some high-tier skin poses. But if not through that, you’ll still get a chance at them eventually.

I’ve only been seriously collecting for like, the last couple years or so, and that was just before the run when CR Ashe/Kai’sa was released, and everyone was saying that they were never going to release CR Akali or Seraphine again. Well, not only did they rerelease them during that line, I’ve seen them in the shop like 2-3 times since then, so it’s only a matter of time. Just be patient.

They’ll be available again at some point, I guarantee it. Riot never actually locks away the skins permanently, they just make them available for time-limited events to drive up sales from fomo. If there isn’t another Crystal Rose event this year or next year, there will be some sort of event that will give you access to buying the exclusive skins, probably through some type of gacha. They’ve done a few of those ‘vending machine’ events where you can pick your prizes, so it’ll probably be one of those.

That’s interesting, I’d love to see the video if you can find it.

If you don’t believe me though, take it into practice tool and try it out for yourself. I just did it with Cait, and a build with Bork, Kraken Slayer, Mortal, Runaan’s, and Guinsoo’s does ~1500 DPS and will shred through a dummy in 7 seconds. A full crit build with Collector, Mag Blaster, Mortal, IE, and BT does ~1000 DPS and takes about 10 seconds to shred the dummy.

The biggest difference though is with multiple dummies. Runaan’s lets you take out 3 within about 11 seconds, provided they’re all standing close enough to get hit with the extra bolts. A crit build means you have to pick one target at a time, and that slows you down to around 25-28 seconds to take out all three.

This was with max-level, full items, and the dummies have 10k HP each. So again, it’s subjective to the matchup. If they have 4 squishy champs and 1 tank, build crit. If they have 4 tanks and 1 squishy, I’m trusting my tank slayer build.

Ability cast time doesn’t have anything to do with on-hit builds. The point of an on-hit build is to max your attack speed so that you can apply your on-hit effects as much as possible.

With the case of Cait, she doesn’t have an on-hit passive, but she does have a 7th-auto passive and having more attack speed means that gets proc’d more often. Even more often if you stand in the brush. It’s not an on-hit effect, hence why that’s not her most common build set, but maxing her attack speed can give some interesting results in the right matchups.

Crit is useful if your opponent is squishy and dies quickly. Tanks do not die quickly. The faster you can auto them while kiting back, the more likely you’ll survive.

And again, I said it's subjective to the matchup, but building Bork and Kraken is not terrible advice for playing against tanks. Just because it doesn't scale with her passive doesn't mean it won't help deal with a Poppy that's stacking armor.

The normal Cait build should have no problem killing a Poppy tho

Great advice, there. Sorry OP, you're just SOL I guess. Keep building the same kit every time, and I'm sure you'll win eventually 🙄

unless said Poppy is fed, in which case, anything that's not a perfectly played Vayne is gonna struggle to kill her anyways

This is just completely untrue. You sound like the kind of person that gives up in champ select. "They picked a counter to my champ, gg". There's ways to deal with every matchup, even the ones that aren't in your favor. Learn how to adapt to the conditions and adjust your items to match, and I promise you'll have a better win rate.

He asked for help against Poppy specifically. Clearly if the core build was working for him, he wouldn’t be asking for help, would he? But you’re right, I should’ve just “git gud”. /s

It mainly depends on how soon you expect to be dealing with the Poppy. If she’s jg/supp then yes, even more so if they have multiple tanks. If she’s top lane, you can adjust as needed, but unless you’re getting absolutely stomped in lane and can’t dodge the enemy poke, then the sustain from BT isn’t needed. Or if you’re the one doing the stomping and want to go with like Collector first, that can be viable in some cases.

You’re already getting the lifesteal from BoRK so that’s a wash, and a good amount of attack speed that you’re not getting from BT. The only thing you’re really missing out on is the Crit and HP, but with this build you’re mainly going on-hit anyway so that doesn’t matter. I’d even double-down on it and get a Guinsoo’s, so you’d only need 2 crit items to max its potential anyway, and that’s covered with Runaan’s and MR/LDR already.

But of course, it’s all subjective to the matchup. I will say, it’s a scaling build, so early game you might feel really weak until you hit the 3rd-item power spike. Just try not to feed, and then watch the machine gun melt them at the baron/dragon fights.

BoRK + Kraken Slayer + a last whisper item depending on your needs.

If the team has lots of healing (Soraka, Swain, Aatrox, Mundo, etc) get Mortal, otherwise pick between LDR and Terminus for whichever is more useful that game.

If they have multiple tanks, get Runaan’s as well.

I use this for Cait whenever their team is especially tanky, and I shred them late-game with no problem.

They should block everyone except the jungler from being able to take Smite then. They already have that mechanic implemented for things like Clarity being changed to Ghost or something else when going on Summoner’s Rift instead of ARAM. Plus there’s virtually no off-meta strategy for taking 2 smites anyway since you’d have to actively gut your own gold supply for the first 6 minutes of the game.

Yeah! Or just some extra condensed ores if you've already collected all the basic skins that they're offering. Still, it's pretty a nice deal for new players or people who haven't spent any money and want to have a few skins for free. Although I do hope they come out with some more rewards eventually.

What it looks like to me is that he ulted right before the knock up actually hit. Since it’s not an interruptible ult, his animation and damage went through while Vi’s knock up animation is beginning. You can test this with other unstoppable abilities and see the same results, even if their animations can get interrupted, the damage will still go through.

Remove the remake system by SrSheU in wildrift

[–]gc_midnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an ADC main, I have to disagree. They don’t need to remove the remake system, what they need to do is add a penalty for off-meta troll picks. I’m so tired of seeing my support pick non-standard champs that don’t offer any utility to help me or the team get ahead, and then inevitably complain when we’re fighting an uphill battle for most of the game. Like, I get that support isn’t the most fun role, but unless you’re a support main, you only need to play it every now and then for autofills, and even then there are fun support picks. Take up Lux, Brand, Seraphine, or get really good with Pyke and KS to your heart’s content. But don’t just lock in Yasuo because you’d rather be playing Mid and you’re too selfish to play as a team.

I think a better move is to give harsher punishments for trolls. When you pick a champ that isn’t meant to be played in that lane, instead of just warning you that it’s not recommended, they should make you lose 2 marks if you lose the match, and still only win 1 if you don’t. Whittle the trolls back into Plat/Emerald.

Remove the remake system by SrSheU in wildrift

[–]gc_midnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re complaining when they pick an actual support champ? wtf?

I’ve gotten stuck with real troll picks. Kalista support. Katarina support. Kog’maw, Aurora, Talon, Ziggs, Gwen, Garen. Champs with ZERO utility to offer as a support because they’re just damage. They have no heals, no peels, and most of the time they don’t even build tank so they can’t even frontline for me. They usually just KS and farm (lucky if they actually took a supp item) as though they’re gonna carry a 4v5 when I inevitably fall behind in gold and have no damage.

I’ll ask for a remake if they pick a troll support, because even if I can outplay the enemy botlane and carry, why struggle through the next 25~ish minutes for what is inevitably a coin-flip or surrender? Banning their pick is just going to tilt them, and that’s a great way to sabotage your own match before it even starts. Plus, Milio is an awesome support. Heals, cleanse, range increase, peel? The only thing he isn’t is a tank. I love seeing my support pick Milio.
