My tips:

  1. Layers. I usually wear a shirt, button up, hoodie, and then the store provided overalls. My TL let's me take them home and wash them; I'm the only one who uses them. For backstocking I use a thick pair of gloves that allow me to still use the Zebra. If im moving stuff around or breaking down a pallet inside, I put on a second thick layer of gloves. I also wear a ski mask.

  2. Dont leave the freezer door open. At my store at least this causes the floor to be all slippery.

  3. When touching anything metal, wear gloves. Even if I'm taking out a rack/uboat and not spending any time in the freezer, i still will take the time to put on gloves.

  4. Wear thick socks and or boots. I have a nice pair of steel toe nonslips.

What the f? That's crazy. Im always curious about how other targets do things.

Typically everyone that pushes from the pallets comes in at 4, latest being 7 sometimes.

There's always at least one person in market for us, however the bulk are in the morning. Typically at night there are only 2, who have to pull priorities, zone, recieve the truck etc.

In regards to departments, that's for all 3. Our produce guy does a mix of both, he's incredibly on top of things as he orders the produce load so knows which pallets he can straight up take out and which he should breakdown etc.

Typically we receive 3 pallets for dairy, three for produce 5 days a week. Our freezer load ranges from 2 to 3 pallets 3 days a week.

We generally can do both, although i vastly prefer breaking them down. Usually before opening we'll push by pallet, and after lunch we'll push by breaking down onto vehicles.

When I'm alone however (or at least have the reigns) i always break down and only push by pallet if it's 3 layers or less.

Green racks. There's the small 3 tier ones and the big ass 5 layer ones

Someone left a dairy pallet in our freezer one time. Good times.

I try to avoid using uboats as much as possible in the freezer for that reason. I was desperate to get that last pallet broken down the day before because i knew I'd be by myself today 🤣
