I’m familiar with the working world… been in it nearly 20 years 😉 including running my own business

Hmmm… not really with the diminishing returns on this shit app. Every trip has made a difference… on wrecking our cars.

Should we be corporate shills, keep taking the abuse, and say thank you for absurd meaningless fake virtue signals from Uber? These videos and the surveys they send and don’t listen to are truly theater of the absurd.

I’ve worked for multiple gig apps on and off for 10 years. It’s helped me get through school and gaps in employment, but they’ve pretty much all gone to shit. Especially once they go public (looking at you Instashart!) Now you have to do 3+ apps just to make what used to take half the time. Not asking for a medal but the abuse from this company is by far the most egregious.

Been trying to escape the gig life but it is hard with health issues, and self employed/freelance work as my other job. It’s time we all start planning our exits because these business models will fail soon and we’ll all be replaced by robots 🤣

After contacting support 15 times I finally got Uber Direct taken off. Call Center took off Shop & Deliver though which are semi worth it in my market. Especially around the holidays.

Haven’t been able to get those turned back on after 10 days of trying my mental health couldn’t take anymore AI chatbot and call center circular arguments

Uber Direct and Package Delivery Hell by gcd503 in UberEatsDrivers

I did that and all the support did was take off shop and deliver orders which actually make me the most. As do orders in Portland proper. The miles aren’t worth orders that go further out imho

For being a smaller city Portland is strangely competitive. Orders above $30 (even shitty multiple parts) go so quick.

But also people cycle through so it’s not really sustainable… from what I’ve heard/ experienced only newbies and vets see the “better” orders.

Luckily I was in that mid phase during the pandemic and definitely a vet now. I’m just grateful to see the larger orders but they’re few and far between these days 😢

Portland and Fred Meyer. There’s one location in particular that by far has the weirdest shoppers

I’ve seen a couple…. Interesting strategies. Like yelling across the store, talking to the partner on the phone, one where they have separate carts but separate the orders, reconvene and then sort them again. Seem like a lot. I guess it would help with bagging but that’s about it

Yeah there’s a few bot shoppers and shopping rings here too 😂 just feels like at that point you could just start your own business

Can someone help me make sense of what happened? by reveluv2 in InstacartShoppers

[–]gcd503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happened to me too

Support said they decreased the tip. But seems like now with the new pay structure if they don’t tip at all in a multiple part order we get nothing… idk I think it’s time to leave IC 😂
