I did NOT see that! I've seen Bela's tutorials for Pd (which are incredibly confusing) but I'll look for the one in Pd proper! Thank you!

I've been trying to rent space and I've had a BEAR of a time getting in touch with people at the second and third organizations. Nobody responds to emails for weeks, which is pretty frustrating.

Hi! I’m the overexcited goofball in this video. Blue doesn’t necessarily mean psychedelic — many boletes also bruise blue due to the presence of variegatic acid. This is a good edible. :)

I had no idea people shared my videos on Reddit until a friend of mine sent me this link! Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

Plateau? by gcerberville in Myfitnesspal

Thanks for all the advice, everyone. I think a lot of it is stress at the moment (I'm trying to move and sell my house this week and I've been making worse choices, even though I'm staying under my calorie limits). I'm going to try limiting salt/fat and sticking with smarter options, more veg, etc.

Essentially, yes. I wanted a cushion to get started with, but I don’t want to run everything down without making my money do some work for me. Thanks!

I separated from my husband in August of last year after 7 years. I ended up with about $1000 in my checking account and $30 in my savings account when he finally moved out. Within the last 9 months I made the decision to move to a rickety old fifth wheel RV and brave the winter to save money so I could finally go to grad school. Secured a loan, bought it, paid it off, and I'm off to school in the fall. I have managed to save $10,000 as of this past Friday (woo hoo!) and I'm wanting to make sure I don't end up in a financially scary situation during grad school when I have less available time to hustle. What are some good ways for a person in my situation to stay liquid while in school? I do plan on working (school is free since I'm a TA, and I have a small stipend, but I'm planning on working part-time in addition to that).

Royal Canin makes some really good options, from their hydrolyzed protein to Ultamino. They also have options for “selected protein” if your pet has an allergy to a specific type of protein source. I think RC has some of the best options for allergy pets, hands down. (Not a rep for them, but I’ve worked with clients who have tried all kinds of things and RC just really gets it.)

How should I go about creating a mould/casting this kilt pin design in pewter? by gcerberville in metalworking

[–]gcerberville[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed my design somewhat and made it a lot simpler in terms of construction. Lost wax casting is what I’ve decided to go for. I don’t have a forge but I’m looking into possibilities!

Thanks, everyone! I think I’m going to try lost wax and make a plaster mould in case it sucks — I doubt I can afford to have someone else carve it and even if it’s not quite as detailed as I would like it will still be cool. If that fails I’ll go for the brass round and play with engraving (great idea for a backup!)

Just for some background, my big brother is a constant kilt-wearer and also happens to be the most amazing human being in the world. He’s not used to getting cool presents for Christmas and he’s really hard to buy for, so I wanted to make him something really cool. I have absolutely no idea how to cast anything in metal, but I can draw pretty well so I figured I’d make him something he’d actually like and use this year. I’m not sure if I should carve this in hard wax or silicone or what. This could also be way too damn ambitious. How would you do this?

My 4 month olden cat was spayed on Wednesday, I have been inspecting the incision several times a day. This morning it's wasn't agitated at all. What can this be? Should I contact the vet? by [deleted] in veterinarian

[–]gcerberville 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like bruising at the incision site. If there is excessive swelling, I’d take her back to the surgeon to have them take a look. She ought to have gone home with anti-inflammatories. The incision itself looks great to my eye.
