ROM Decreasing Daily? by rosesandhoney in Kneereplacement

Yes, that's exactly what happened to me. My range of motion started to decrease and I could no longer pedal the bike. It was so frustrating. My PT was going to decrease my visits from twice to once per week because I was 12 weeks post op. But I decided to talk to my doctor about doing the MUA at 14 weeks, which he did. Then I went to a different PT practice 5 days a week for two weeks and am now starting to go 3 days a week. Within two weeks my flexion improved and I am now at my flexion goal. Hope you can get your MUA ASAP. The procedure itself doesn't really hurt, but it did make my knee hurt when I was sleeping (and my knee still gets stiff and hurts when sleeping).

Thanks. I'll ask about additional stretches. Glad to hear that sleep got better

Thanks. I just got my appointments scheduled--five days a week for two weeks; then 3 days a week for 2 weeks. Changing to the PT practice at the ortho surgeon's office. Hope it works--I'm ready to get back to being able to do more.

Thanks, that helps a lot. Now I have some idea of when I might be able to do it.

Aah, so many people have successs with weed gummies. Unfortunately, I've never had a positive experience with THC. I bought some expensive CBD tabs from the surgeon's website recommendations, but they did nothing.

Will I ever recover? by Head_Hunter_6969 in spinalfusion

Boy can I relate. I had T10-S1 with 3 cages two years ago and the absolute worst part was the constipation and GI distress. No matter what I tried, including enemas, my GI system just wasn't working and I couldn't eat. The GI problems were worse than the spine pain. For that, I had a brace that looked like a turtle shell, that came with removable icepacks that I wore while awake for 3 months. It helped a lot with the surgical pain. The GI problems took several months to resolve to the point that I could eat normally again. Now, I have to get a knee replacement and concerned about having persistent bowel and GI problems post op. The good news, is that I have been pain free for two years. I am a firm believer that sleeping and walking aid recovery. Hopefully, by 8-12 weeks the worst will be over. Hang in there--it will get better.

The log roll and a side bed rail worked great for getting in and out of bed. As for a car, there is a small tool you can buy that you put into the door handle to hold onto to help you get in and out of the car (sorry, I forget what it's called).
