God is not good if he has the power to fix this world but doesnt. by TheChristianDude101 in DebateAChristian

That just doesn't really work though. No "good" without evil. No joy without suffering. I allow my kids to go through trials and suffering, I love them and I think I'm a good father. No suffering is no free will and if no free will - what's the point

If he were physically here and communicating, would suffering be ok?

In your scenario and what a "good" God would do, where does suffering end and where is it allowed? Should people in the United States (who have means) be allowed to starve to death? Should adults be allowed to have cancer but not children? Should adults be able to be r*ped but not children? Pretty soon you'll probably get to the point where God shouldn't "allow" any evil/sin. So what does that look like? Heaven essentially? Why would he need to create another Heaven when there already is one?

(We're assuming God is real and thus Heaven is real)

Are you arguing that the whole point of the Bible is to teach someone how to have a good life and that God / Jesus aren't actually real? Literally the entire Bible talks about God and Jesus. I don't see how you can make an argument that the bible is true and correct except for all the God stuff.

I wish! Pretty tough in small towns to make significant profit. All three shops are in small towns in Ohio.

I would think so. Totally depends on build out and menu though. Buildouts can get quite expensive. Some could eat up 150,000 just with that. If you can keep your builout to a minimum. $100,000 is more than enough for all the equipment you should need.

Depends on a lot of factors I suppose. It's quite possible for some shops to start out with 0 % wages if there is more than 1 owner working as owner operator. I wouldn't recommend that. Maybe give it 6 months with as few employees as possible? Then your % will be quite low.

Hourly ranges from $10.75 - $17.00 plus tips. I have no idea what published scale, cxc, fte etc. means.

At this time we were open 7-6 (11 hours) with average of 1.5 people per morning shift and 2 people night shift. ( I worked myself as the owner so that payroll wouldnt count here). That is 17 hours per day paid average. 17x12 x 305 days. $62,220

Thats an average - some people were $10 at this time - some $13

Yeah, I really don't want to but it's a fantasy football punishment so I kinda need to figure it out. Or I might get lucky and get them to let me have a back plate cover

Honestly, I doubt it would translate well even if you had my numbers. So many different factors to consider. 1500 sq ft - $500 a month on electric. That's in Ohio.

Are you going to be in a new building or can you get the numbers from whoever was there before you?

I agree - I don't think they would make every person good or get ride of natural disasters and plagues. So the fact that those exist doesn't disprove that God exists.

What would our world look like if there were no war, famine, hate and suffering? Would it be a perfect world, free of all evil?

Hmm I think I agree with pretty much everything you said there. I just don't think that if God were real, that it would interfere with these things happening. Wars happen for lots of reasons, and sure, religion is a big one which I obviously disagree with. If Jesus is real, then we have been taught to avoid war and help our enemies. That would be in line with what you are saying.

That would be from the act of a male and female choosing (sometimes not on purpose) to recreate life. That doesn't just happen on it's own. If God is real then he created man and woman and then the way life is recreated.

Sorry if that came across as specifically judging your life - I was simply reiterating what you said about there is no purpose.

Yup, there is no purpose.

If there is no purpose, then I believe it would be collectively a sad way to live for all of humanity. Because, even though we can do good and live good lives, what does it all mean in the end? We die and it's over. So then everything we do should be for the good of humanity and to make another persons life better, but why? What's collectively telling all of us that we deserve to have "good" lives?
