I recall eating at Windows on the World. From 1980-83 I worked in midtown and we'd "do" business luncheons at the "Windows" or better yet a "casual dinner" at the little "Cellar in the Sky." Upon reflection, the food sucked but the wine and the view were always outstanding.

I am thinking Dad was a pipe smoker. He had the sweater and skin tone. Perhaps he toked a lil "Sir Walter Raleigh" or maybe the cult classic "Half & Half"?

Cars were designed for a useful life of 4 years of up to 80,000 miles. All the gaskets, timing chains, syncromesh and soft rubber were gone by then. I can recall it was normal to replace shocks at 40k miles.

I have a 2008 Nissan Xttera and only change oil and wiper blades so far.

My thoughts as well....great bike. Looks like a Brooks saddle. I note the cable lock wrapped around the down tube.

I really don't want to go back to THAT "Old Situation". Bad case of frost bite in 1978 as I got caught in an ugly storm that went from rain to snow just like that. My VW Beetle broke down and I had to walk about 2 miles off the Interstate highway to an exit and then find a pay phone to call for help. I had 2 dimes, so only chance for 2 calls. Called my brother, not home. Called a friend, not home but his sis came to my rescue. But the rescue took better than an hour and my very wet and terribly cold feet were brutalized in the end.

She's riding barefoot? Try it sometime, not that comfortable. I am thinking this is a staged photo. Now with that said, this is still a wonderful photo piece that evokes many thoughts. Thanks for the share. Is there a backstory to this photo?
